You get a costume like that, it's doing more than half the work for you. I think it's the kind of heartfelt earnestness in his characters that makes people love his films. I'm always amazed by the way a film comes together. You have fun doing it, but Wes in particular uses, he blends a photographic style with music on top of the scenes in a way that it makes it bloom in a way far beyond what you even experience on the day, so I was kind of enjoying it right along with the crowd. most of Wes's movies have a little bit of sadness or melancholy laced under them. A lot of characters in Wes's movies are lonely, or are trying to fit in. And I think that's why they, I think that's ultimately, it's not his funny set decoration. I don't know that he'll always, each story has to have it's right cast, but he knows I would work for him anytime he wants. When I saw the word scout master, I started laughing right away, so. Kara and Jarrod were just very they're very real, very natural kids, not kind of these little professional actors who are too varnished or coached, they were very authentic and very sweet kids. It was just super easy. The main fun for me was seeing Wes get applauded like that. He's almost to me, among American film makers, he's sort of the definition of what Cannes celebrates, which is people with very personal, authentic, original tour visions and I was kind of shocked to hear that he had not had a film here before. That was the main thrill for me was just being in the mix with Wes on such a cool debut.
