One has to wonder, what exactly did Elie Saab think while putting on an all-white couture show just after the iconic Karl Lagerfeld put on such a poetic white show for the biggest and oldest couture house in the business six months earlier? It would be completely conceited and very wrong of Saab to try to compete with Lagerfeld, and he could be called totally ignorant for not knowing of the Chanel show, because what designer doesn't check out the competition in these economic times? Questions aside, Saab's show was undoubtedly overshadowed by Lagerfeld's work, proving only once again that his ideas can bring out something wonderful in someone else. The collection was very pretty, with the correct amount of work put into the details that they deserved, while old Hollywood could clearly be heard in the beading on the evening gowns.
