Elisha Cuthbert

There wasn't a boy who didn't drool over actress Elisha Cuthbert when she starred in The Girl Next Door in 2004. But she just killed all her sex appeal with this ensemble. The leopard top isn't so bad, but those cropped cream pants remind me of something my unstylish grade-school teacher wore back in the day.

If I were Elisha out and about in LA, I'd first ditch the unflattering pants and wear a pair of slick stovepipe pants or dark denim. Only then would I carry that cream purse; in her current state, too much cream is tacky. I'd keep the top as it's on point with the latest leopard trend and the bow peep-toe heels as they're cute.

Victoria Beckham looked tight last night at the Marc Jacobs show in what looks like a Herve Leger dress. I'm not sure since I am not a fashionista (I leave that to my girl Fab), but isn't that a no-no. Anyway, MJ didn't seem to care. Marc is notorious for starting his shows late and this year he was supposedly two hours delayed. Now that's just beyond rude. Even though Anna Wintour and her daughter Bee were there I can't imagine they would wait that long for any show - even MJ. Carmen and Mischa stopped by while Courtney Love showed off her insanely bright blue eyes. Heath Ledger doesn't appear to have showered but he did remember his trusty red Wayfarers. Phew. We're holding out for Fab's review but from the look on Victoria's face, some of the looks seem to be seriously confusing.

Some lovely ladies came out last night for InStyle's 7th annual Summer Soiree in LA. SMG looked fabulous (and super tan) in her short dress while Elisa Cuthbert seemingly felt the need to embellish her frock with shoulder feathers. Former Losty Maggie Grace and possible future Losty Kirsten Bell hopefully had a chance to dish on all the hot Island gossip. Unfortunately it looks like the September cover girl Gwen is touring overseas and couldn't make the party, but I'm sure all these lovely ladies had a great time even without her.

I have never once had any inclination to see the latest "torture porn" movie Captivity, but after reading the most scathing review in the world, I'm even less interested. In fact, I'm nauseated, in a similar way to how I felt about Hostel: Part 2, but even more so.

Apparently, the "plot" of the movie consists of blond model Jennifer (Elisha Cuthbert) being tortured in a variety of ways by a sadistic man. Meanwhile, there's another guy in this dungeon who also appears to be getting tortured, so of course the two form an relationship and, unbelievably, have sex. Because I'd sure be up for some nooky after having ground up body parts forced down my throat. Sure. As you'll find out if you read that review, that's not even the worst part of the film, if you can possibly imagine it.

The worst thing about this whole thing — the movie, the ridiculous promotional posters — is the filmmakers' reaction to the outcry over it. For obvious reasons, women's groups have denounced the film (though they're not the only ones, the writer of the aforementioned review, for example, is a full-grown married man) and the response to that is, "Let's throw a torture porn party!"
