Some of our favorite actresses from the big screen got dressed up for the theater in NY last night at the opening of The Country Girl on Broadway. The show stars Morgan Freeman, Frances McDormand and Peter Gallagher, who were all out afterwards to celebrate their big night with the likes of Julia Roberts and Amy Adams. Natalie Portman and Kirsten Dunst both looked perfectly content to be flying solo without their new — one rumored, one real — men. While the play itself is getting mixed reviews, it's hard to believe that there will be any trouble selling tickets while such an all star cast is up on stage.

George Clooney was the last man standing from the Leatherheads cast, with neither Renee Zellweger nor John Krasinski showing their faces at a screening of the film in NYC last night. He did have the support of Bruce Willis, his close friend Ellen Barkin, and Julianna Margulies — which is a fun little treat for fans of old-school ER. Clooney looked like he was in good spirits as usual, but behind the scenes of his new movie, things have been less than perfect. The Writers Guild of America refused to give him writing credit on Leatherheads, even though he claims to have written most of the film. As a result, George has decided to become less involved with the WGA, even though he'll stay on as a member. Even if Clooney got burned a little, he's got plenty of other talents to keep paying those bills.

Here's something worth losing my gloves in the taxi for . . .

I had the honor of attending Diane von Furstenberg's postshow dinner. In her fabulous studio next to her store in the Meatpacking District about 200 fashion folks (Ann Duong, Hamish Bowles, Suzy Menkes) and celebs (Molly Sims, Ellen Barkin, Susan Sarandon, Rachel Zoe, Rose McGowan) wined and dined. While I usually leave the celebrity doings to Pop and party talk to Party, it was an exciting, all-encompassing evening. When I wasn't with my new-found friends at Fashion Week Daily, I was taking pictures for you guys and talking to Ellen Barkin. Oh, and sipping bubbly.

Catered by long-time fashion favorite restaurant Indochine, the lady of the hour looked at ease and happy after another successful runway show. There was a giant screen with the Super Bowl playing — it was the NY Giants playing, after all. Amongst all the stimuli, it was also shoe heaven. Party goers had clearly gone home after the shows to change into less comfortable (more fabulous) shoes.

Last night in NYC some of the years biggest breakout stars like Javier Bardem and Amy Adams came together with old favorites at the 2007 New York Film Critics' Circle Awards. The winners were announced last month with both Amy and Javier among them and his No Country For Old Men taking home the honor for best movie of the year. Maggie and Peter left the baby at home for the night and Bella wants to know what do you think about her more natural look? Javier's not looking so bad himself these days, though his girl Penelope wasn't by his side for the night. Who knows, this may not be the only award Javier wins this week — with the Golden Globes on Sunday he may be getting another statue for his mantle.

There's never a moment's rest for Katie Holmes who was absolutely stunning out to help honor her husband at last night's Moving Image Black Tie Salute Honoring Tom Cruise in NYC. She and Posh are looking pretty similar in the hair dept these days, especially when Katie has it all straight like that. It looks like most of the women took the black tie part of the event very very literally with their choice of dress color, including Ellen Barkin and Julianne Moore. The museum's director talked about why they choose Tom, "Salutes are traditionally actors or directors...Some of these actors and directors are also multitasking, and Tom Cruise is one of them. His position with United Artists puts him into a whole new phase of his career, and that makes it a perfect time to honor him." Congrats to Tom, but (cheese alert) what better prize could he want more than Katie's infectious smile.

After his scary Friday afternoon motorcycle accident, George Clooney stepped out in NYC last night for the premiere of Michael Clayton, arm in crutch with his girl Sarah. Broken toes aside, she looked mighty happy to be alongside her man - can't say I blame her. Along with George's costars in the movie a slick looking Brad Pitt, an ugh, why Kate Walsh and sexed-up (surprise, surprise) Ellen Barkin all came out. The night was about the movie, but the red carpet was most definitely for asking George about his accident. In typical George fashion he laughed it off with quips and jokes. Here's more:

"I'm a little dinged up – lots of Neosporin," Clooney told PEOPLE at the New York event. "I'm definitely not jogging or doing jumping jacks."

He added that he and Larson are "just resting."

"You don't really want to rub or massage parts that are broken or anything," he said.

It's good to hear that both George and Sarah are doing better after the accident - it could have been so much worse. Something tells me Sarah will take him up on those massages once she's feeling a little better.
