Matt Damon stepped out for the premiere of His Way, an HBO documentary about the actor's longtime pal producer Jerry Weintraub, in LA last night. Cindy Crawford and her husband, Rande Gerber, were also on hand to toast their vacation buddy Jerry, as were Emile Hirsch, Stephen Dorff, and Bruce Willis. Matt was able to enjoy the evening out celebrating the movie during a break from his own film project, We Bought a Zoo. He was on set with a giant grizzly bear earlier this week, though he'll soon trade the wild cast for a more civilized costar. Matt's set to star alongside Michael Douglas in Liberace, and it was just revealed that the two men will share intimate scenes including multiple kissing moments.

Elton John Biopic Casting: 5 Actors Who Could Play the Music Icon

You know we're big fans of movies with a music slant here on BuzzSugar, so imagine our excitement over today's news that an Elton John biopic is in the works. John spoke to BBC Radio about the project, saying that "it will be more of a fantasy, Moulin Rouge type of stuff." So who might play the Rocket Man? He says he'd love either Justin Timberlake or Robert Downey Jr., as long as it's "somebody cute." Well, if that's the only major qualification, then we have a few suggestions! Take a look at this list of actors who'd be perfect for the part.

Matthew McConaughey to Kill For Emile Hirsch

Matthew McConaughey is about to tackle a funny movie, but this time there's no romantic prefix.

Matthew McConaughey is about to tackle a funny movie, but this time there's no romantic prefix. Along with Emile Hirsch, he's signed on to star in Killer Joe, a black comedy. The movie is about siblings (one of which is played by Hirsch) who want to have their mother killed for the insurance money, so they hire a hitman (McConaughey) to work for them.

Is McConaughey ready to leave his Mr. Shirtless days behind him? Between this news and his upcoming film The Lincoln Lawyer, I'm happy to see him expanding his horizons again. As for Hirsch, I have no problems picturing him as a crazy little deviant.

Emile Hirsch Gets Ready to Fight Off Aliens

Emile Hirsch has dealt with all sorts of characters in his films — hippies, skateboarders, porn stars — but in his latest project, he'll be taking on a whole new breed.

Emile Hirsch has dealt with all sorts of characters in his films — hippies, skateboarders, porn stars — but in his latest project, he'll be taking on a whole new breed. The actor has signed on for the sci-fi thriller The Darkest Hour about a group of students in Russia after an alien invasion. It's being compared to the spooky hit 28 Days Later, which bodes well for the flick. Actress Olivia Thirlby has already joined the film as well.

While Hirsch isn't exactly the first guy who comes to mind when I picture someone kicking extraterrestrial butt, he is a good actor so it'll be fun to see him tackle something new. Do you agree?

Precious Ladies and Lenny Lead the Way With Carey, Maggie and More at Independent Spirit Awards!

Friday marked the 25th anniversary of the Independent Spirit Awards, which they celebrated by airing it live for the first time.

Friday marked the 25th anniversary of the Independent Spirit Awards, which they celebrated by airing it live for the first time. The precursor to today's Oscars is always a looser affair, but the red carpet had its own impressive ensembles — vote on them with all of Fab and Bella's love it or hate it polls. Lenny Kravitz had a Hollywood up-and-comer, his daughter Zoe, on his arm to support his movie Precious. Carey Mulligan was solo, which is apparently her plan for today as well, which dashes our hopes that she'd bring her cute boyfriend Shia LaBeouf. Vera Farmiga was representing the Up in the Air cast in her red dress.

The winners were able to have a bit of fun both mingling with friends during the big dinner and on stage where anything goes. Mo'Nique and Gabourey Sidibe both took home statues for their work in Precious, which was the night's big winner — see the full list on Buzz. While Mo'Nique is the favorite for tonight as well, in the press room she said she isn't expecting anything. Ryan Reynolds and Maggie Gyllenhaal carried their champagne on stage, and she was also called up to join her Crazy Heart costar Jeff Bridges when he was named best actor. Colin Farrell embraced Elton John as he entered the awards right as they started. During the show, Jeremy Renner checked out the backstage gifting suites and Elle Lounge. Award season's big finale is tonight, and we'll be updating live here and on PopSugar's Twitter from the red carpet and press room!

Jessica Biel Mounting Kilimanjaro Today

Keep your thoughts with Jessica Biel today as she sets out on her trek up Mt.

Keep your thoughts with Jessica Biel today as she sets out on her trek up Mt. Kilimanjaro. Biel won't be alone, though — Lupe Fiasco, Emile Hirsch, and Isabel Lucas are just a few of the notables joining her on this fundraising climb for Summit on the Summit.

Summit on the Summit is hoping the celebrity-filled trek will raise money, as well as bring awareness to the growing need for clean drinking water worldwide. Folks are encouraged to sponsor the climb via the Summit on the Summit's interactive website, which will also be tracking the progress of Biel and the rest of the team as they trek 20,000 feet up the Tanzanian mountain.

The journey is expected to last a week, with each team member carrying about 30 pounds of supplies in their backpacks. Training began months ago, and though it's not a hard climb in terms of technical expertise, the altitude and low temperature of the climb can make it extremely difficult — shortness of breath, headaches, dizziness, and fatigue are not uncommon in these kinds of environments. Good luck, Jessica!

The Chateau Marmont hosted GQ's Men of the Year Awards last night in LA. A few of the magazine's honorees, including Zach Galifianakis, Tom Ford, and Neil Patrick Harris joined forces with starlets like Olivia Wilde and AnnaLynne McCord. January Jones hit the carpet alongside Dexter's Jennifer Carpenter as Alexander Skarsgard, who won a "Man Who Saved HBO" award, went from LAX to the bash — click here to check out the full list of winners.

Alexander stayed close to rumored girlfriend Kate Bosworth, despite recent reports of her being linked to other guys. Sarah Silverman, meanwhile, was there to keep Zach company as his fellow funny man Russell Brand took a night off from romancing Katy Perry to mingle with Quentin Tarantino. Lindsay Lohan also turned up for the event while drama with her father seems to finally be cooling off.
