We're slowly inching closer to award season, and tonight we learned who scored nominations for the biggest ceremony in the music industry: the Grammys. Last year was all about the ladies, but this time around the men are stepping up. Eminem got the most nods with eight, including song of the year and record of the year, while newcomer Bruno Mars nipped at his heels with seven nominations (guess he's not just popular among the Glee club). Speaking of the gleeks, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the cast was recognized all on their own, for their "Regionals version" of "Don't Stop Believin'" and best soundtrack.

Just because the men came out on top this year doesn't mean the ladies won't be represented. As usual, Lady Gaga got plenty of recognition, along with Katy Perry and Rihanna. Other nominees that got me smiling are Arcade Fire, who picked up three noms including album of the year, and The Black Keys and Cee-Lo Green, who each picked up four nods apiece. Oh, and even the Twi-hards of the world have a reason to celebrate: the soundtrack for Eclipse scored a nod for best soundtrack.

Beyonce Knowles was decked out in a sequined Roberto Cavalli LBD last night to celebrate in the Big Apple following her husband Jay-Z's first show with Eminem at Yankee Stadium. Jay-Z joined her on their way into the afterparty, which was held at his 40/40 club. During the concert, Jay-Z spoke about the honor of playing in his hometown of NYC and at his beloved baseball team's headquarters. He said to the crowd, "I gotta tell y'all, it's one of the most wonderful things being here tonight, being from New York City and being in Yankee Stadium." It wasn't just Eminem and Jay on stage, though — they had cameos from special guests like Chris Martin and Kanye West, who was still in his bright red suit from the VMAs. Gwyneth Paltrow was spotted hanging out backstage, supporting her husband and her BFFs Beyonce and Jay. Beyonce switched gears to enjoy a night of family and music following her Fashion Week adventures, which included a turn on the catwalk for Tom Ford with other famous ladies like Julianne Moore, Rita Wilson, and Lauren Hutton.
