Anyway, I know she hasn't been in much (in fact, I can't think of any of her movies), but I think Eva Mendes is a true movie star. She is probably the closest thing to being the Sofia Loren of this generation of stars.

she is a gorgeous woman (and i totally see the Sophia Loren comparison, Asche), but is she that good of an actress? the only movies i know are one of the Fast & the Furious movies and Hitch (i think).

She was in the Fast & the Furious? Yikes. I looked at her IMDB profile and she was in Training Day. I forgot about that role...she was actually really good in it.

But she is one of the few actresses that I don't mind is famous for not being in too many things. She comes off as really intelligent and real in interviews, and has this amazing, movie-star style and quality that you don't find too often. She dresses like a lady.

Anon, Caftan is okay, as if Kaftan. It's an Farsi word, so it is obviously not written with our alphabet. When Farsi words are written in English, it is transcribed based on sound. The Farsi word خفتان is pronounced with a sound that is in between a K and hard C. Thus, Caftan and Kaftan are perfectly okay.

In the same way that you are criticizing others for expecting Eva Mendes to conform to their anti-smoking standards, you should learn a little about linguistics

I get excited with new Eva posts, I'm obsessed with this gorgeous woman!

I'm bummed to see her smoking too. But I want to know how to get that perfectly wavy hair. I wish my hair looked that casually beautiful everyday.

It's odd, i feel like everyone in hollywood smokes, but because of the who anti-smoking lobby, they aren't photographed doing so that often because it sends a bad message to the public. Anyway, in LA, people are generally looked down upon for smoking, so it isn't a California thing.

I have just never found her attractive.Eva Mendes, Eva Longoria, Fergie, and Beyonce are all so boring to me. I will never understand the hype. I've seen better looking women at Target.

I'll agree on Eva Longoria. After seeing some of the mustache pictures of her sans makeup, I think she's all smoke and mirrors. Fergie and Beyonce have VERY questionable personal style. However, I can't lump Eva Mendes in this group. She's hot san primping and has great personal style.

Eva Mendes is so sexy, it just comes natural to her. She doesn't force it- thoses lame sexy faces that Lindsey and Megan Fox do all the time. She looks like she belongs in a Fellini film.
