Will Ferrell Announces Anchorman Sequel (Video)

Will Ferrell reveals that Anchorman 2 is a go! Hi there, I'm Lauren Bradshaw, and we're showing you the hilarious footage of Will as Ron Burgundy as he makes the big announcement in today's PopSugar Rush. WILL FERRELL: It is official — there will be a sequel to Anchorman, there will be a sequel. Gentleman . . . [plays flute] Ron Burgundy — and his jazz flute — are back! On last night's Conan, Will Ferrell made a surprise appearance in character, showing up to play with the late-night band and announce that Anchorman 2 is finally underway after years of talks. RON BURGUNDY: I don't know how to put this, but I'm kind of a big deal. Will reportedly started working on a sequel all the way back in 2008; however those plans were halted when an agreement couldn't be reached over budget. But now it seems the film is back on. Not only is Will returning to reprise his role as Ron, but Judd Apatow will produce, and former costars and news team members Paul Rudd and Steve Carell have also signed on. WILL: Brick are you just looking at things in the office and saying that you love them? STEVE: I love lamp. Fans are already sharing their excitement about Anchorman 2, with Ron Burgundy trending on Twitter this morning, and it sounds like we won't even have to wait that long to see the comedy in theaters.
