The Fountain Premiere

Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz came out to celebrate The Fountain's NY premiere, and also the first film of Darren Aronofsky's in six years! You probably remember the last one was Requiem for a Dream. This time around he has written a very ambitious tale based on his own graphic novel. The story spans over 1,000 years and both Hugh and Rachel get to play multiple characters. Sounds pretty interesting. The film opens this holiday weekend.

P.s it's basically about the search for the fountain of youth in order to save the one Hugh's character loves. But it's also so, so much more than that.

This movie is nothing at all like Requiem. It is the anti-Requiem! But it will go over a lot of peoples' heads, especially if you're not the intellectual type and have little appreciation for symbolism. But I found it absolutely breathtaking!! One of the best movies I have ever seen hands down, and Hugh Jackman is simply incredible (and gorgeous, of course). He has earned himself a spot in my top most respected and revered actors EVER thanks to The Fountain.
