Amy Poehler and Tina Fey have pissed off the wrong guy. George Clooney revealed on Thursday that he is planning a big prank to get revenge on the two funny women, who took a dig at him when they hosted the Golden Globes in January. At the award show, Tina and Amy riffed, "Gravity is the story about how George Clooney would rather float away into space and die rather than spend one more minute with a woman his own age." Watch their joke below (the George one starts at the 5:07 mark).
Now, it seems George has something big planned. While he stopped short of revealing exactly what his prank will entail, he said, "I'm doing something that I'm actually ashamed of, that's going to hurt them," adding, "I'll show you photos later." George also revealed that he already gave the ladies a taste of the prank he has planned when he sent them a gift basket "on Matt Damon stationary" that said that Matt was upset about being called "a garbage man" at the Globes. George said that Amy and Tina responded in classic fashion with a fruit basket of their own and a note that read :
If your note is part of some George Clooney prank, as I very strongly suspect it is, you A-list amateurs are going to have to step it the f*ck up. We are not some easily confused starlets here. We are grown-ass, professional comedians. Please accept this fruit as a token of our sincerity. Best wishes, Elizabeth Tina Fey, Amy 'Boston' Poehler.
Matt read the letter when he appeared on The Late Show on Wednesday. Watch Matt's reaction below.
Matt also said during a Reddit Q&A on Thursday that he let George know that he knew what he was up to. Matt said, "So I photographed the letters and emailed them to George with a caption that said 'Go f*ck yourself.' He's honestly a child. I can just see his shoulders shaking when he laughs alone in his house."
Whatever George has planned, he's been working on it for some time. He hinted that he had something really good planned when he took part in a Q&A on Reddit in January. At the time, he said: "I'm working on getting them back in a big way."
