Gisele Bundchen looked amazing showing on the runway modeling for Colcci during Sao Paulo Fashion Week, though some non-style-related comments she recently made have landed her in hot water. The supermodel, who is well-known for her love of organic beauty products, angered anti-cancer advocates by saying she's not a fan of chemical-filled sunscreens. Gisele said, "I cannot put this poison on my skin . . . I do not use anything synthetic." It's the latest controversial statement from Gisele, who also ruffled the feathers of her fellow mothers last year by saying breastfeeding for six months should be a law. Gisele seems undeterred when it comes to speaking her mind, though she has clarified her contentious words in the past. This could have been regarded as a breakdown in communication or more specifically a bit of a translation blunder. Either way misunderstanding can really have huge consequences! In this case Gisele’s comments clearly led to offend dermatologists and even people with skin problems. Whether Gisele’s translation error was genuine or not, translation accuracy is really important for spoken or written interpretations. I sometimes need to interpret content into other languages and as I’m not a language professional I often hire a translation agency to translate any content that will gain exposure from one language to anther for me. But I can appreciate that she might not have been able to consult a language professional in advance of offering her opinions to the public, but it’s definitely something I would recommend to her for future reference!
You ever notice that all those who complain and start rumors are usuall…y homely, old , and overweight jealous people? Who cares if Gisele said it was poison or not.. it probably is.. most everything we eat drink and put into our bodies on the market is poison.
what's the big deal? there are other forms of sun protection, she just doesn't like sunscreen.

Guys, there will always be stupid controversies surrounding Gisele. She's worse than Naomi Campbell throwing cellphones at people's heads. Worse than Kate Moss doing drugs. Worse than Alessandra Ambrosio falling drunk out of clubs every weekend. what she puts on her skin and what she does with her body is just SO controversial right?

Gisele's statements aren't controversial; the way in which these blogs "word" them are! If you read more of what she says you would see it's never half as bad as how the headlines make them out to be. (to get those web hits and boy does it work!!!)

I've had skin cancer, so I understand more than most how important sunblock is. But I also am a big fan of organic cosmetics, and I have to agree with Gisele that a lot of conventional sunblocks are filled with ingredients I don't feel comfortable putting on my skin. (Retinol palmate, for example, has been linked to increased risk of skin cancer, and other synthetic sunscreen ingredients have been found in people 's bloodstreams.) Fortunately, there are a wide variety of organic sunscreens that rely on zinc or titanium dioxide to block both UVA and UVB rays very effectively, and these minerals are put in a base of natural ingredients like olive oil and other fully pronounceable inactive ingredients. The main problem with Gisele's statements is they might discourage people who can't afford organic sunblocks from using any sunblock at all - which is much more dangerous than using conventional sunblocks.
