Hi there, I'm Lauren Bradshaw. After a packed week of award season announcements between the Critics Choice Awards and the Screen Actors Guild Awards, the nominees for the 2012 Golden Globes were revealed this morning. BuzzSugar editor Shannon Vestal is here to share the three big takeaways you need to know in today's PopSugar Rush!
Number one: George Clooney may well be on his way to the Oscar race!
George already received a Critics Choice and a SAG nod for his starring role in The Descendants, and now he's nominated yet again, for a Golden Globe
Looks like it could end up being a heated race with Brad and Leo who are also up for all three of those honors
George is also up for directing Ides of March
Number 2: The Hollywood Foreign Press loves Ryan Gosling.
RYAN: "Do you find me attractive?"
FRIEND: "She does."
Ryan is up for honors for Crazy Stupid Love and Ides of March
Kind of surprising to see him get nominated for both of those, but not Drive, which earned him a Critics Choice nod
And finally, at number 3: It's all about this year's new TV.
CLAIRE DANES: "There is a bigger, pernicious, Abu Zanir-worthy plot out there, and we have little time."
After getting snubbed for SAGs, Homeland came back strong with Golden Globe nominations for the series and it's two leads
It will compete against other newbies like American Horror Story, Boss, and Game of Thrones in Drama category
New Girl up for comedy series, and Zooey Deschanel up for Best Actress, TV comedy
But favorites like Parks and Rec and Steve Carell were snubbed
