In between film premieres, press junkets, and photocalls, the attendees of the Cannes Film Festival are squeezing in a little do-gooding — and looking unbelievably stylish while doing it. The annual amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala brings together the best and brightest from fashion and film, and gives us the chance to see the likes of Carine Roitfeld, Naomi Campbell, Goldie Hawn, and Courtney Love in the same room. A-list actresses, designers, models, and musicians walked the red carpet to promote amfAR's crusade to end the AIDS epidemic, and as usual, they proved that you can look fabulous while supporting a good cause. Kate Hudson wore a dramatic, flowing, animal-print gown to support her mom Goldie Hawn's foundation at the Metropolitan Club in NYC last night. The organization devotes itself to improving behavior and learning for children through cultivating well-being and emotional balance. Newly engaged Kate has been in the Big Apple promoting her upcoming romantic comedy, Something Borrowed, with stops at The Late Show and an exciting interview with Matt Lauer on the Today show, where she first revealed the news of her upcoming wedding and flashed her $200,000 ring. Goldie was back to work early this morning, recovering from her "fun-raiser" and joining the ladies of The View to discuss the royal wedding. Gwyneth Shares Her Great Shape Secrets During a Good Housekeeping Night With Meryl, Christy, and More
Gwyneth Paltrow got some of her best Big Apple girlfriends together last night for Good Housekeeping's Shine On Awards, which honored the achievements of powerful women. The actress was there to salute the work and raise awareness around maternal health done by Christy Turlington Burns, and they shared the evening with other ladies like Meryl Streep, Rebecca Romijn, and new mom Ali Larter. Gwyneth, who was on the cover of the magazine's February issue, has been busy with her return to Glee, which airs next week, and promoting her latest publication — she hosted a dinner for friends like Cameron Diaz, Jay-Z, and Mario Batali on Monday to toast her new cookbook My Father's Daughter. She was on hand yesterday to congratulate others, but Gwyneth took a minute to discuss the long hours she spends maintaining her awesome figure. Gwyneth said on the red carpet, "The reason that I can be 38 and have two kids and wear a bikini is because I work my [expletive] ass off. It's not an accident. It's not luck, it's not fairy dust, it's not good genes. It's killing myself for an hour and a half five days a week, but what I get out of it is relative to what I put into it. That's what I try to do in all areas of my life."

Still, she's started to show off a hint of a baby bump as Fit shares tips and tricks from the trainer who keeps Kate in such great shape.
Kate Hudson and Goldie Hawn stayed warm with big, furry coats and coffee in Aspen, CO, yesterday. The mother-daughter duo and the rest of their family have a tradition of Christmas in the ski town, though this year there were rumors Kate would be splitting her time between the States and the UK to spend some of the holidays with boyfriend Matthew Bellamy. Many flights to and from England have been canceled this week due to weather, but maybe they'll still find a way to be together this weekend. Kate Hudson was in all white yesterday to hang in LA with her mom Goldie Hawn, who sweetly kissed her partner Kurt Russell goodbye before the girls headed off to visit a friend's house. It was just last week that Kate left California for NYC, where she passed some time brunching around the city with her boyfriend, Matt Bellamy, and scooting with son Ryder. Matt and his band Muse are currently in the South for a string of shows, and even though he and Kate are temporarily apart, they're still being subjected to another round of engagement speculation.
