Yoga may be an ancient practice, but it feels like we're constantly hearing a new celebrity boasting about its impact. If you still haven't tried out a yoga class, maybe seeing how these beautiful celebrities keep their youthful glow from the practice will be the push you need. From Ellen DeGeneres to Gwyneth Paltrow, these celebrities have all praised the benefits of a solid, consistent yoga practice.
The trailer for At Any Price pairs Dennis Quaid and Zac Efron as father and son, with heartland-raised Henry (Quaid) hard at work expanding his family-owned farm with its next-generation owner-to-be, son Dean (Efron). The problem is, Dean doesn't want the farm. Dean wants to race cars, and this is just one of the many issues plaguing the family members' lives. Big business is also threatening their moderately sized operation, and it appears family man Henry may not live up to the stand-up guy image he's portraying.
This intense performance in the preview is unlike anything I've seen Quaid do of late, and likewise, my curiosity is piqued by Efron in this emotionally meaty role. I'm looking forward to seeing how the two play off each other, and whether or not this movie will prove to be more than just a ho-hum family drama. Though it already premiered at the Venice Film Festival last August, At Any Price opens in limited release on April 26, and you can watch the trailer after the jump.
Selena Gomez showed off her legs in a short lace dress on the set of Feed the Dog in LA yesterday. Selena's costar Heather Graham was also on location and had a busy day with two outfit changes. While Selena worked on her latest project, boyfriend Justin Bieber also found himself in front of a film crew. Justin was greeted by L.A. Reid to record a piece for The X Factor. Justin will appear on The X Factor as a celebrity mentor for L.A.'s team.
Justin's manager, Scooter Braun, was also on hand for what was a day of reminiscing. Scooter and Justin secured their first recording contact from L.A.'s Island Records back in 2007. Justin tweeted, "Long day but great day. L.A. Reid and Scooter Braun — just like old times! Thanks!" Scooter shed light on his relationship with Justin in the latest The New Yorker. Scooter told the publication, "Justin's and my relationship is not a manager-artist relationship. When he was thirteen, I said, 'If you stop singing, if you never dance again, if you never play again, I'm going to be in your life.'"
The trailer for Cherry kicks off like an after-school special: pretty teenage girl moves to San Francisco, dreams of becoming a model, gets mixed up with the wrong people, and ends up a porn star. The girl, Angelina (Ashley Hinshaw) is also trying to sort out her relationship with an older man (James Franco) and a close male friend who is clearly in love with her (Dev Patel).
Though the trailer makes me believe the film may be slightly sugar-coated (Hinshaw never seems to lose her smile, and the story line with Patel could be too sweet to believe), but I'm interested in this one for the cast, which also includes Heather Graham. Rachel Zoe and her husband Rodger Berman were among the celebrities who turned out for last night's Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center benefit at Sunset Tower. Mandy Moore, in Lela Rose, also posed on the black carpet, and inside, Rachel made the rounds with her good friend, and client, Anne Hathaway, as well as former San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsom. Anne presented the first annual Visionary Award to Rachel, and the two laughed and shared a hug onstage. Both ladies wore vintage gowns from Decades. Anne was decked out in Christian Dior haute couture, and Rachel donned Versace.
The presentation was followed by a silent auction held to raise funds for the organization's homeless youth services. Rachel tweeted afterward that it had been "The most amazing night surrounded by the most amazing friends." There was another reason for Rachel to celebrate — she just crossed the one million Twitter followers mark!
One of my favorite actors is turning to porn: James Franco is in talks to star in Cherry, an indie drama about the adult film industry. The movie follows a young girl (who hasn't been cast yet) who moves to San Francisco and gets pulled into the world of porn, and Franco will play a lawyer with a cocaine addiction with whom she becomes involved. Lili Taylor will play her alcoholic mother, Dev Patel will be the best friend who is in love with her, and Heather Graham's part hearkens back to her Boogie Nights role; she's a former porn star turned director.
Cherry is the directorial debut by author Stephen Elliott, who already has a Franco connection: the actor will star in and direct the film adaptation of Elliott's book The Adderall Diaries.
Heather Graham looked gorgeous in a peach L'Wren Scott sheath dress at Good Housekeeping's annual Shine On Awards in New York City. She accessorized her form-fitting dress with matching patent pumps, a pile of gold accessories — Melinda Maria cage bracelet, drop necklace, and snakeskin clutch — and a hot pink lip. Gwyneth Shares Her Great Shape Secrets During a Good Housekeeping Night With Meryl, Christy, and More
Gwyneth Paltrow got some of her best Big Apple girlfriends together last night for Good Housekeeping's Shine On Awards, which honored the achievements of powerful women. The actress was there to salute the work and raise awareness around maternal health done by Christy Turlington Burns, and they shared the evening with other ladies like Meryl Streep, Rebecca Romijn, and new mom Ali Larter. Gwyneth, who was on the cover of the magazine's February issue, has been busy with her return to Glee, which airs next week, and promoting her latest publication — she hosted a dinner for friends like Cameron Diaz, Jay-Z, and Mario Batali on Monday to toast her new cookbook My Father's Daughter. She was on hand yesterday to congratulate others, but Gwyneth took a minute to discuss the long hours she spends maintaining her awesome figure. Gwyneth said on the red carpet, "The reason that I can be 38 and have two kids and wear a bikini is because I work my [expletive] ass off. It's not an accident. It's not luck, it's not fairy dust, it's not good genes. It's killing myself for an hour and a half five days a week, but what I get out of it is relative to what I put into it. That's what I try to do in all areas of my life."
Ryan Gosling brought a special lady, his mom, Donna, as his date to the second annual Governors Awards in LA on Saturday night. The birthday boy celebrated his 30th at Disneyland on Friday, and while he's had plenty of memorable onstage moments in the past, the evening was all about the honorees like Francis Ford Coppola and Eli Wallach. Sofia Coppola came out to support her dad alongside Natalie Portman in a gorgeous purple Lanvin gown, a Marchesa-wearing Hilary Swank, and Elle Fanning in Valentino. The ladies were joined by guests Stephen Dorff, who recently showed off his shirtless physique, Justin Long, and Josh Brolin, who stuck by his red-hot wife, Diane Lane.
