Ryan Gosling brought a special lady, his mom, Donna, as his date to the second annual Governors Awards in LA on Saturday night. The birthday boy celebrated his 30th at Disneyland on Friday, and while he's had plenty of memorable onstage moments in the past, the evening was all about the honorees like Francis Ford Coppola and Eli Wallach. Sofia Coppola came out to support her dad alongside Natalie Portman in a gorgeous purple Lanvin gown, a Marchesa-wearing Hilary Swank, and Elle Fanning in Valentino. The ladies were joined by guests Stephen Dorff, who recently showed off his shirtless physique, Justin Long, and Josh Brolin, who stuck by his red-hot wife, Diane Lane.

It was another big evening for celebrities in LA last night with the annual Hollywood Awards Gala taking over the Beverly Hilton Hotel. James Franco added a dapper touch to the red carpet after a busy weekend of dinner meetings and attending the 127 Hours junket, while Mila Kunis, who was fresh from promoting Black Swan in London, posed in a black Monique Lhuillier. Leighton Meester was on the West Coast during a break from Gossip Girl duties in NYC, looking fresh and pretty in Elie Saab. Halle Berry picked a similar hue for her latest star-studded event, after bringing Olivier Martinez along for Saturday's Carousel of Hope Ball.

Carey Mulligan, meanwhile, added her own dose of color in a burgundy Giles dress. She was on a break from filming Drive, but it's her personal life that's been making news. Carey apparently really has split from Shia LaBeouf, though yesterday she didn't mention anything about rumored new guy Tom Sturridge. She admitted that another rumor is true too, as she's currently staying at a Best Western hotel. Carey said, "I don't know why people are so down on the Best Western. They have the best sweet potato fries I've ever had." She took the stage once inside the event along with other actors like Zach Galifianakis. Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan joined Heather Graham, Jeremy Renner, and Josh Hartnett for the third straight night of partying during the Ischia Film and Music Festival in Italy yesterday. Channing, Jenna, and Jeremy showed off their tans after spending the morning together at the beach in their swimsuits. Heather had the same idea to lounge in the sun with her boyfriend Yaniv Raz — she was out again this morning wearing her latest tiny two-piece. Somewhere along the line, ensemble casts became synonymous with ensemble romantic comedies, which inspire an infinitely more polarizing reaction. Boogie Woogie has an ensemble cast, but cutesy parallel lives and courtships are definitely not the order of the day. Instead, it's the scandalous London art world at the center, and the stars in its orbit include Amanda Seyfried, Heather Graham, Stellan Skarsgard, Gillian Anderson, Alan Cumming, and Christopher Lee.

The scene of international art provides a backdrop for business, backstabbing, and sex (not necessarily in that order), which I wouldn't be scrambling to see, but the cast is intriguing. Seyfried again seems to be establishing herself as a sex kitten, and I love that Anderson is appearing in something that's not X-Files-related. Will these actors be enough to get you to check out Boogie Woogie?
