Modest Helen Mirren Talks About Her Body of the Year Award
This morning, the women of The View bowed down to Dame Helen Mirren for being voted best body of the year. While the 66-year-old actress deflected questions about her recent poll victory, a jumbo-sized picture of her in a bikini assured the audience that "The Queen" had earned her crown. Watch Helen's reaction and find out who she beat out now.
Gisele Bundchen, Matthew McConaughey, and More Honor Morgan Freeman
Gisele Bundchen wore Oscar de la Renta on the red carpet at the AFI Life Achievement Award honoring Morgan Freeman held last night at LA's Sony Pictures Studios. The supermodel said hello to the man himself, hugging Morgan and the Brazilian TV presenter Hebe Camargo. Gisele also caught up with Morgan's daughter Alexia before moving inside to mingle with other celeb guests like Clint Eastwood, Matthew Broderick, Matthew McConaughey, Casey Affleck, Betty White, and Helen Mirren. Morgan's Amistad costar Matthew McConaughey rocked a new look with his handlebar mustache, though his girlfriend, Camila Alves, didn't seem to mind the new facial fuzz. Morgan said a few words about his career and humbly acknowledged one special role in Bruce Almighty. Morgan Freeman said of his AFI honor, "I should be ashamed to say that sooner or later, I knew that someone was going to call on me to play God. I just had to be sure that when I said OK, that it was a comedy."
Russell Brand Has Kisses For Wife Katy Perry at His UK Arthur Premiere
A Dolce & Gabbana-clad Russell Brand had lots of love to share this afternoon at the UK premiere of Arthur in London. His wife, Katy Perry, was on hand for the red carpet, and her sparkly nude gown was evidently a hit with Russell. He threw his arms around her to give her a big kiss before temporarily leaving her side in order to pose with his costars Greta Gerwig and Helen Mirren, who also had a sweet PDA moment with her own spouse, Taylor Hackford. One cast-mate didn't make the trek, though, as Jennifer Garner celebrated her 39th birthday back in LA. Katy is on a break from her Teenage Dream world tour, and she jetted to England after spending the weekend with other celebs at Coachella. Russell arrived in his home country a few days ago to do press for the European opening of his film, which opened in the US to relatively underwhelming results. We managed to catch up with him at a screening in NYC, where he talked all about his love for Helen and his hopes for Easter Sunday. Russell said:
- On ranking Helen on a scale of 1-10 of awesomeness: "There's no number, it's beyond Pythagoras, beyond mathematics, beyond numeracy. There's a system of signs that belongs only in the heavens — that is what I would give Helen Mirren. Astronomy cannot answer how much I love that woman."
- On his connection with Helen: "I love her very much, there's nothing but sparks there. That woman is a pyrotechnical display all in herself. I think crush is a rather glib word for the profound tidal love that swells in my stomach every time I look at that woman."
- On what he wants in his Easter basket: "I think it's bad to eat too much sugar. An apple, photograph of the queen, just more baskets, an endless Russian doll effect of baskets, a wicker tower reaching to god himself, or herself, who knows."
Watch, Pass or Rent: Arthur
Arthur hits theaters this weekend, with Russell Brand starring as the title role in this remake of the '80s comedy. But does the new version hold a candle to the original? Once you've read the written review, get our final verdict on whether or not this film is a must see.
Arthur: More Fun the Second Time Around
Jason Winer's Arthur is a remake of a 1981 film starring Dudley Moore, but how you feel about the original (or even if you haven't seen it at all) won't have much effect on your enjoyment of the 2011 version. In this fresh take, Brand plays Arthur, a filthy rich heir who never grew up because he never had to. Arthur spends the majority of his days and nights wasting his millions on whatever and whomever he sees fit, pretending he's Batman, and drinking as much Maker's Mark as is humanly possible. With his nanny Hobson (Helen Mirren) there to clean up all of his messes, Arthur has no reason to abandon his carefree lifestyle and settle down.

When his mother hands him an ultimatum, Arthur is forced to make the first adult decision of his life: he can either marry Susan (Jennifer Garner), a tightly wound business executive whom Arthur has no romantic interest in, or he can lose his entire fortune and find out how the other half lives. The situation is made more complicated when Arthur falls head over heels for Naomi (Greta Gerwig), a girl from Queens who works as a tour guide of Manhattan and has big dreams of becoming an author.
Brand is known for playing outlandish characters like Forgetting Sarah Marshall's Aldous Snow, and he doesn't stray too far outside the realm in Arthur. As he gallivants around town in top hats and powder blue suits, his Arthur is yet another hard-partying character with a quick wit and enough one-liners to put Ricky Gervais to shame. The difference is that Brand brings a certain child-like innocence to Arthur that not only gives him depth, but makes him endearing as well. Arthur is a silly (and self-serving) character through and through, but with Brand's charm, you can't help but root for him and enjoy being part of his hijinks.

Video: Helen Mirren on Being Terrified to Host SNL and Her Love For Russell Brand
In Arthur, Helen Mirren plays Hobson, the straitlaced nanny who cares for the titular carefree man-child played by Russell Brand. At the film's junket, Mirren admitted that Brand is the reason why she signed on to the film, and talked about how much love and respect she has for the actor after working so closely with him. The Oscar-winning actress stayed humble about being out of her league in comedy, and revealed that she's terrified to host Saturday Night Live this weekend. Watch below, then find out what Brand had to say about Mirren in return!
Watch the Trailer For When Harry Met Sally 2 (With a Twilight Twist!)
We've seen classic romantic comedy When Harry Met Sally remixed as a horror film, but what about a sequel? Billy Crystal took it upon himself to reimagine a follow-up to the story, this time with Harry finding romance again in a nursing home after Sally's death. It seems like love at first sight for Harry and Sharon (Helen Mirren) . . . until Harry realizes that Sharon has a dark secret, and he's bit off more than he can chew (pun intended).

Jennifer Garner Hits the Arthur Red Carpet in Oscar With Russell, Helen, and More!
The cast of Arthur matched in muted hues at their NYC premiere last night. Jennifer wore Oscar de la Renta and was coming straight from Letterman while her girls enjoyed the California sunshine with Grandma Affleck. On the red carpet she talked about being nervous when filming atop a huge horse and says she hopes she doesn't disappoint fans when she takes on the role of Miss Marple — check out PopSugar Rush for more from Jennifer! Russell Brand revealed that there may not be truth to his Rock of Ages casting rumors, since he would like to be able to spend more time with wife Katy Perry. She couldn't join Russell for the premiere, though she did tweet her support from Scotland where she performed last night. Similar to his character, Russell told us falling in love made him grow up, but last night it was all about his female costars. He gushed about Helen Mirren, who, along with the rest of her costars including Greta Gerwig also got lots praise from director Jason Winer during Buzz's sit-down interview. Today Jennifer is stopping by Regis and Kelly as well as Late Night With Jimmy Fallon to promote their movie ahead of its Friday release.
Blake Lively Wows With Sexy Marchesa and Equally Hot Ryan Reynolds
Blake Lively traded her lacy white daytime Dolce & Gabbana for a sexy red Marchesa minidress and Brian Atwood shoes at last night's CinemaCon awards in Las Vegas. She and Green Lantern costar Ryan Reynolds were out to promote their movie, and she accepted the statue for breakthrough performer of the year during the ceremony. Other honorees of the evening included Helen Mirren, Julianne Hough, Rosie Huntington-Whitely, and Chris Hemsworth. Backstage Blake enjoyed being surrounded by handsome men, not the least of which is her friend Ryan, who is sporting a hot new haircut, and she joked that she felt like she was at a "superhero convention." In fact, she's headed straight for one as she and Ryan will jet off to San Francisco today for WonderCon, where BuzzSugar will be reporting live from all the action all weekend long!
