Last week when the news came out that Hilary Duff will be starring in a new Bonnie & Clyde story, apparently no one was more surprised than Faye Dunaway herself. She supposedly commented, "Couldn't they at least cast a real actress?" Today, Hilary Duff dissed Faye back saying that younger fans don't know who Dunaway is and then making a slam on the older actress's appearance. I've agreed with Faye Dunaway because there are many real actresses out there to play her character why just a singer like Hilary Duff got to play her. So I think her comment was right. Besides, who is Duff to judge Ms.Dunaway's look? Duff is only 20 years old with all that $$$ and makeup and only be able to look cute only. Shes not even considered good looking or beautiful. I am sure hen Ms. Dunaway was at Duff's age, she would look much better. And I'm sure when Duff got to Ms.Dunaway's age, she will look worse than Ms. Dunaway. No wonder why Joe dumped Duff and left running and hiding from the witched Duff. I hate i when young people at their peeks consider and act like they are on top of the world and start to look down or mock other people. Life is too long to tell and there are always karmas in what we do, so what you throw out now, will come back to you later in life. So be careful Hilary. You are too young to understand it so you don’t care now. But you will be the first to get it back and you will get to learn the pain and understand it yourself. Take care!!!

The only reason Hilary Duff is playing Faye is because she was in Cinderella Story and Faye was in Mommy Dearest (I know you don't quite get that). Believe it or not, there are some conniving female producers who have nothing better to do than play that game... it's sick and twisted and their lifestyle. Otherwise, they would have 'honored' Ms. Dunaway with a better actress.

Okay so I'm uncultured and ignorant because I don't know who she is? Excuse me but I've studied acting and I KNOW what real acting is. An oscar doesn't mean anything these days. If ANGELINA JOLIE can win awards, then its obviously just about popularity. She is a terrible actress. If this woman was really a "legend" then I would have SOME clue of who she is, or at least have heard her name before. Hillary Duff is not the greatest actress, maybe in a few years she wont be remembered, she is a little predictable, but so far what I've seen she isn't TERRIBLE. Thats all I'm saying, and I'm done with it.

I understand that she's mad but honestly Faye is right! Hilary is NOT a real actress and the acting she has done is bad. That was one of Faye Dunaway's biggest parts that she is best known for and if I were her I wouldn't want some pop tart coming in and ruining what was a great movie. I also think this is something to keep in mind for when Hilary Duff gets older. Let's see how SHE looks. I already think she looks a little more plastic and not as attractive as when she was younger so maybe she shouldn't be throwing so many stones.

on one hand, good for her, faye is the unprofessonal one here and sounds jelous of Hilary when she should be trying to be supportive to a young actress, but on the other hand hilary could have taken the upper hand, but i think something needed to be said, i dont remember faye dunaway being hailed as the best actress on earth either...and hilary is right if i hadn't seen her in the Thomas crown affiar with peirce brosnan i wouldnt have clue who she was....

how can you not side with faye. even if duff wanted to respond, i don't think dunaway's looks should have had anything to do with it. she was a fox in her youth, and we're all gonna get old and look busted some day.

Woah, there are a lot of opinions on this. Having reflected a teeny bit on this after reading some comments, I think that Faye was entitled to feel a bit defensive of the character but I think she should have rephrased it to save Hilary some hurt (goodness knows what the reviews are going to be like when the movie comes out). Also, I don't think being unfamiliar with Faye makes someone uncultured or ignorant. It really depends on personal definitions; what seems relevant to you may not be considered significant by someone else. Not knowing who a certain movie star is (even if she's iconic for some) isn't a reason to insult someone's intelligence or imply they lack refinement.

Her talent has yet to be proven and Faye Dunaway is an Oscar winning actress. So, HD should have just swallowed it, get to work and prove the critics wrong. Personally, I don't think she can sing (nasal), can't dance (as stiff as a jackhammer but at least the jackhammer has more rhythm), thus far her acting has been limited to being a spoiled, self-centered daughter in Cheaper By The Dozen. She should have shut up.
