When production on Desperate Housewives shut down indefinitely yesterday afternoon, the 'wives themselves took to the picket lines, self-promoting t-shirts front and center. Hopefully, the actors and actresses who are out there on the lines for now will still support their scribes days and weeks after they stop filming. And here's to this scene in particular being more than just a photo-op for Eva, Marcia and Nicollette. Methinks we'll be seeing even more of these three out on the town now that Wisteria Lane has entered involuntary hiatus.
To see more of DG on strike just read more
You know, all these actors and actresses putting themselves in the spotlight and patting themselves on the back for supporting the writers make me really want to do everything in my power to make reality TV replace their shows.
1this strike is affecting a lot of lower wage workers... hope this is all resolved soon
the
girls look really cute
2I hope it all is resolved soon too and that everyone can be mature about it.
3hahahah i want that tee!
4I think its nice that all of these actors are getting involved. Imagine if they are on strike for the holidays some of these people live check to check that's sad.
5I like that they're involved. I just hate that every interview is about that they're doing and how great they are for being out there, rather than the actual issue at hand.
And they can be involved without making it a photo op. Eva, I'm talking to you.
6I have never watched this show and never plan on it.
I can't stand Eva and won't watch anything she is in!
7the celebs don't care they just want to be seen and talked about hollywood is fake.
8It's nice to see them involved...but I would be even happier if they opted to take a pay cut in order for the writer's to get their rightful pay. It's a team effort...and if one member is making $500,000 PER episode and the average WGA member is making $50,000 PER YEAR...well then something needs to be done!!!
9Yea, I hope all this get resolved really soon.
10just pay them so this whole thing can stop and move on.
11i like that the actors join the line. show of high-profile support for their crews and writers.
12Anything free and easy to get your donkey face out there huh Eva.
13They are striking too bc they don't have anything to do unless the writers come back! As someone who is personally feeling the affect of this strike I hope it is resolved soon! The actors and studio execs totally need to take a pay cut to help us out!
14I love the television shows and it will put a slight damper on my work nights, but i guess i'll have to fill it with something new. It's great seeing the celebrities support their writers. It's not a huge cause to rally against, IMHO (but since it is their livelihood-to them I can see it's important). I wish these celebs would picket for other more worthy social causes then doing this to fuel our need for entertainment. I hope that these celebrities have always supported them and not just for the sake of being photographed and making themselves feel good.
15To be honest, I think the actors being on the line is two-pronged:
To show their support for the writers and ultimately their shows (and bosses - the showrunner/writer combo peeps anyway)
and
To emphasize their support to the writers, so that come June when the SAG contract runs out, if there's an actors strike, the writers will support them as well
16I hope this ends soon with a resolution that will please everybody!
17I hope this is resolved soon.
18while i applaud the support, i am really not happy about having to see the hags of wisteria lane wandering around the streets of la
19Eva looks so petite, I love her
20Where is Teri btw?
21that's awesome that they are getting face time in front of the cameras while they are shut down.
Why hasn't anyone asked them what they are doing to support the 125 people who all work for FAR less than the writers do who just got fired because they refused to shoot the last couple of shows?
Oh yeah, because they are phonies who don't care about PA's and assistants who work for peanuts. Good job guys.
It's not the writers getting screwed here people, it's the Hollywood working poor who help these fools have more time to create their scripts who have been forgotten in all of this.
22Where can I get that shirt? it's awesome that they stayed out with the writers...
23Most of these actors and actresses are dummies. They know nothing about what they are doing or why they are out there except that they "want to support their writers". I agree with the other commenters that they are out there for face time and publicity. Their PR reps probably told them to do this. Hollywood is so fake and these rich actors could care less about anyone else who might get fired for this but themselves. I kinda want to see their shows canceled too. You know that once Desperate Housewives is canceled all those women will go back to being the has-beens they were before the show. They make me sick.

25eva's got a cute cap.
