Paul Rudd Is Marvel's Newest Movie Hero

This week's casting news got a little more fun when Paul Rudd [1] was confirmed to take on Marvel's Ant-Man and Hugh Jackman [2] got in the mix to play a famous villain in the upcoming Peter Pan origin story. Speaking of stories you already know, Josh Gad is bringing Gilligan's Island to the big screen, plus Ricky Gervais is reprising one of his cuter roles. See who's got a new job in this week's casting update!

Josh Gad will star in a Gilligan's Island movie [3], which he'll also cowrite. It's not known who he'll play yet.

Judy Greer, Dean Norris, and Emma Thompson joined Men, Women & Children [4], Jason Reitman's next film. They'll costar alongside Adam Sandler [5], Rosemarie DeWitt, and Jennifer Garner [6].

Casey Affleck [7], Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Michael B. Jordan joined Triple Nine [8] alongside Christoph Waltz and Cate Blanchett [9].

The All-American Rejects' frontman Tyson Ritter has been cast as Gregg Allman [10] in the Allman Brothers biopic, Midnight Rider. Fans of Parenthood may recognize Ritter as Oliver, but this will be his first big-screen role.

John Krasinski [11], Emily Blunt [12], and Joseph Gordon Levitt will voice The Wind Rises [13], a Japanese animation film currently casting voices for the US version. Stanley Tucci, Martin Short, Mandy Patinkin, William H. Macy, Mae Whitman, Darren Criss, and Elijah Wood [14] are among those also signed on to lend their voices to the film.

Wilmer Valderrama joined Castro's Daughter [15] as a persecuted childhood friend of Alina Fernandez, Fidel Castro's daughter.

Ricky Gervais will return for Night at the Museum 3 [16], reprising his role as Dr. McPhee. He joins Ben Stiller [17] and Robin Williams [18] in the sequel.

Hugh Jackman will play Blackbeard [19] in Pan, the live-action movie about Peter Pan's origins. Joe Wright is directing.

Paul Rudd will play Ant-Man [20] (aka Hank Pym) in Marvel's newest superhero story to be directed by Edgar Wright.

Rodrigo Santoro will star in The 33 [21], the drama about the Chilean miner crisis in 2010.

Jessica Lange has joined The Gambler remake [22] as the mother of Mark Wahlberg [23]'s characater.

Helena Bonham-Carter has joined Suffragette [24], about women fighting for their rights. Carey Mulligan [25] is already attached.
