Leonardo DiCaprio Debuts Django in NYC With Cameron Diaz's Support

Leonardo DiCaprio debuted Django Unchained in NYC last night.

Leonardo DiCaprio debuted Django Unchained in NYC last night. Leo was joined by his costars Jamie Foxx and Samuel L. Jackson, as well as director Quentin Tarantino, on the red carpet. Leo, who is currently filming The Wolf of Wall Street, also celebrated alongside pals Olivia Wilde, John Legend, Liv Tyler, and Cameron Diaz. Leo and Cameron have been seeing a lot of each other lately, as they were spotted celebrating for charity in NYC back in November.

Django's premiere came just ahead of today's SAG nominations. Despite all the award season buzz around the film, it received zero nominations. Nonetheless, early reviews for Django Unchained are excellent. Audiences will get to see Quentin's latest for themselves when it arrives in theaters on Christmas day, Dec. 25.

New Django Unchained Trailer: Now With Jonah Hill and Samuel L. Jackson

The first trailer for Django Unchained solidified that this movie is Western done Quentin Tarantino style, and the new preview not only reasserts that, but things get even more familiar when the director's frequent collaborator Samuel L. Jackson shows up. As we learned before, the film follows a slave, Django (Jamie Foxx), who partners with a bounty hunter (Christoph Waltz) to find his wife, who has been sold to cruel landowner Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio). In this new trailer, we get a more extended peek at the interaction between the slippery Calvin and Django, and we meet several new characters — including Jonah Hill as an unmasked Klansman.

I was thrilled at the first trailer, but this one has me even more excited. There's more Tarantino-style humor, and I'm already loving the playful dynamic between Waltz and Foxx's characters. Django Unchained opens Christmas day, but you can watch the trailer after the jump.

Django Unchained Trailer: Tarantino Pits Jamie Foxx Against Leonardo DiCaprio

Quentin Tarantino doesn't seem like the most likely director to take on a Western, but in the trailer for Django Unchained, it's clear that this movie is no traditional Western.

Quentin Tarantino doesn't seem like the most likely director to take on a Western, but in the trailer for Django Unchained, it's clear that this movie is no traditional Western. Sure, everything seems conventional when we meet Django (Jamie Foxx), trudging in chains while a mournful Johnny Cash tune plays. But when he's recruited by bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz) to help find outlaws, things get decidedly Tarantinian. Cue the soul music as Schultz and Django's journey leads them to plantation owner Calvin Candie, who's played by a curly-haired, Southern-drawling Leonardo DiCaprio.

DiCaprio is pretty cartoonish as what we suspect is the movie's villain, and his performance is my main reason for wanting to see this movie — which is saying a lot since I love Tarantino's work. I don't know whether this will top his last effort, the incredible Inglourious Basterds, but I'm excited to find out when the movie comes out on Christmas day. Watch the trailer and let me know what you think after the jump.

Leo Takes His Own Cancun Spring Break With Django Unchained

Leonardo DiCaprio headed down to Cancun over the weekend for Sony's annual Spring junket, with this year's version dubbed "Summer of Sony 4 Spring Edition."

Leonardo DiCaprio headed down to Cancun over the weekend for Sony's annual Spring junket, with this year's version dubbed "Summer of Sony 4 Spring Edition." The company takes advantage of a chance to show off their upcoming crop of films, which includes Leo's Django Unchained from director Quentin Tarantino. Quentin and Leo were side by side for yesterday's photocall, as were DiCaprio's costars Kerry Washington, Jamie Foxx, and Christoph Waltz. Django is a reunion for Christoph and Quentin, who worked together on 2009's Inglourious Basterds. Leo and the gang have been shooting the movie back in America. Production on the picture meant that Leo missed out on promoting his other big-screen project, the rerelease of Titanic in 3D.

Tom Cruise, Will Smith, Beyoncé Knowles, and Countless More Bid Farewell to Oprah With Music, Comedy, and Tears

A whole range of celebrity guests turned out for the Oprah!

A whole range of celebrity guests turned out for the Oprah! A Farewell Spectacular in Chicago yesterday. It was a huge event, at the city's United Center, organized to tape the second- and third-to-last episodes of Oprah's long-running TV show that will air on May 23 and 24. The guest list ranged from performers like Alicia Keys and Beyoncé Knowles, singing her new single "Run the World (Girls)."Tom Hanks played host for the first of two hours of taping, and he introduced the show by saying, "Now Oprah, I know you don't like surprises. Let me see if I can put you at ease. There was an English playwright who said there's no surprise more magical than the surprise of being loved, and that is what tonight is all about." The second 60-minute segment was emceed by Will Smith, on a break from shooting Men in Black 3, and Jada Pinkett Smith. Oprah's 12-time guest Tom Cruise stepped onto the stage to the theme-tune from Mission Impossible, saying, "You always had the power [to change lives], and that is the lesson you brought."

Even Maria Shriver turned out despite the scandal brewing over her estranged husband, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and the revelation he fathered a child outside their marriage 10 years ago. Maria made a heartfelt speech to Oprah, thanking her for the gifts of truth and wisdom. There were also 13,000 fans in the audience to see the proceedings — one guy apparently even proposed to his girlfriend before the festivities began! There were plenty of surprises in store, including a comedy set from Jerry Seinfeld. He had the crowd cracking up with quips like, "To be here at the United Center and not be at a Bulls Game!? This is like a dream a disoriented husband would tell a shrink: I was at a Bulls game packed with fans and somehow it all changed to the Oprah show." The shocks kept coming with tributes from Dakota Fanning, Halle Berry, Josh Groban, Rosie O'Donnell, Jamie Foxx, Usher, and a cameo from Oprah's long-term boyfriend Stedman Graham! Stedman spoke sweetly of his lady love, commenting, " I love you for making a difference in my life." All of the affection eventually got to Oprah, who broke down in tears. She wrapped things up by saying, "Thank you for taking me to a place that is beyond joyous — It feels like the rapture."

Anne Hathaway threw on her Joie cover-up and joined a friend in Rio de Janeiro yesterday to check out the view from her hotel balcony. She had a break from promoting and premiering her new animated film Rio, though her partners in the film Jesse Eisenberg and Jamie Foxx were busy elsewhere with interviews. Her work even brought her onto Copacabana Beach a few days ago. It seems like a picture-perfect work trip for Anne and her cast, and the lucky actress was even able to bring her boyfriend, Adam Shulman, along for the South American getaway.

Anne Hathaway was on trend in a lacy white Dolce & Gabbana dress to pose for photos in Rio de Janeiro yesterday at the premiere of Rio. She and her costar Jesse Eisenberg joined Jamie Foxx and will.i.am, who both contributed to the soundtrack, to promote the animated movie this week after first showing it off in LA in January. The actress went casual earlier in the day to join the group for a press conference, with Anne sharing that she loves "the message that you can learn how to spread your wings and fly." Anne managed to fit a fun shopping trip with her boyfriend, Adam Shulman, in between her work obligations, and the couple checked out a few tourist locations around the city. Jamie appears to also be enjoying his time in South America too, jokingly tweeting that he's canceling his life and not leaving Brazil.
