I wonder if she will win...hmm. I hear she's becoming quite the diva.

These are the dresses she needs to wear, a lot more flattering
I love her...I hope that she wins!

I think she has really lovely skin, and choses clothes that really set it off. I hope she isn't becoming a diva....from the interviews that I have read, she seems to be pretty humble and grounded. I think it would be hard to stay that way when everyone heaps on the praise as much as they have with her.

She looks great! I love the white on her.

Cute dress, but I wish the top were just a teensie bit bigger so the fabric between the buttons doesn't gap.

She looks so pretty, I love her outfit.

From what I hear (and as a journalist with solid ties to the music industry, my "sources" are pretty reliable), she needs to watch her step to avoid becoming a diva. She's already stabbing AI, the show that actually got her noticed, in the back and she needs to pull that crap out of her repetoire and go back to that sweet humble girl. I'm still pulling for her to win, though. I thought she was amazing in "Dreamgirls". I just don't want to see her succumb to the black hole of vapidity.

No Pad...say it aint so. How is she stabbing AI in the back? This is what I have been dreading hearing. Hopefully she shakes it off soon. I love her style here... I did not know Mac made Barbies :?

well that sucks Pad! I think that picture of J. Hudson says "Yes, i know i'm really over-exposed at this point. Now give me my Oscar so i can go make Catwoman 2 and other various crappy movies." i hope she chooses good roles from now on.

She was making negative comments about American Idol, accusing them of being "abusive" and of "brainwashing" her in an interview in "Essence" magazine. "On American Idol, you go through this mental thing; you've got to get yourself back together. You've been abused, misled and brainwashed to believe whatever they want you to think," Hudson, 25, tells the new issue of Essence. "You become a character – I became the girl in the turkey wrapping." (On one episode, she wore an unflattering outfit that earned that label.) "I just knew I had to sing my way out of it. I don't believe in looking back, and I didn't look back." Number one rule: DON'T BITE THE HAND THAT GOT YOU IN THE SPOTLIGHT. It's just not cool. Without AI, it's doubtful she'd be where she is right now - it got her exposure and her name and face out there (and I'm not even a big AI fan, I watch it for work purposes).

OOOOhhh she needs to be careful...stuff like this puts me off people. And I agree she would still be working at the mall or wherever if not for AI. Kelly Clarkson pulled this sh*t too and I lost interest in her
- 5 years ago Report Comment
Exactly, JK. And I like her. I just don't want to see her fall into that trap of negativity. Just thank AI for the exposure, thank the American voters for kicking you off so you weren't stuck in the machine, and do brilliant things with your awesome voice, Jen.

I really love Jennifer too. I don't know if I'd call what she said, stabbing them though. Maybe the show really is like that behind the scene. I mean, who really knows other than those that are there? I was rooting for her that season simply because she is from Chicago like me. I must say that I wasn't all that sold on her voice because she couldn't really control it. She sounds great now and I wish her much success.

I would call it biting the hand that fed you, LorenAshley. There's a time to shut up and be gracious and this is it for her.
I think folks need to stop being so critical. Not everyone had a positive experience on AI! Hell, Kelly Clarkson refuses to even go on the show anymore and she's still a big star. I think Jennifer is just being honest about her experience on the show. I think she is humble and down-to-earth and if anything, she is evidence that America does not always "get it right" on AI. By the way, I love her dress and would love to know who makes ......FABSUGAR???

I totally agree guyanesechick. We all even saw how badly Simon used to diss her right on stage. I can only imagine what was said backstage. I'll still support Jennifer.

I've read interviews too, that says she plans on keeping the same car, will still live in Chicago, etc, but something tells me that won't last long. I think whether or not she wins the Oscar will play a big role...we shall see!

Even if she does move and get a new car. What's the big deal? Many people upgrade and are still down to earth. It's funny to me how people on here love the likes of Lohan, Paris Hilton, and all those other skanks. People who are famous for nothing. Then here comes Jan and she's getting called overexposed, and stuck up ALREADY. I believe that she totally deserves all the attention she's getting. It's pretty laughable.

Simon dissing her or not, she should still be grateful that AI put her name out there. She's also just beginning her journey to stardom, and humility is what people want from her right now. She can pull the diva act when she's been around for a good long time, like Mariah or Beyonce. Not that I want Jennifer to become a diva, but if she chooses that route, she needs to pay her dues first. I love her though. She's everywhere, but I like her a lot, so it doesn't bother me as much.

I'm sure she is grateful. Yes, they did put her name out there but that does not give them the right to bad talk her.

It's part of the joy that IS American Idol. You don't go on that show thinking the world is all about puppies and rainbows and that Simon is the nicest man in the world and pulls fluffy bunnies out of his ass. The show is cruel. But it DID give her exposure she would not have had. Hey, I LIKE Jennifer Hudson, she is just allowing the media to pull her into the Diva game a little too early and she needs to watch out for that. I'm rooting for her big time to take home the Oscar. I think she deserves it hands down.

I want her to win too but part of me feels like they are gonna give it to the chick from Babel. I just have a feeling.
Jennifer Hudson--yawn. I just don't like this girl.
- 5 years ago Report Comment
I'm sure she'll survive.

I don't know, there are two from Babel (Adriana Barraza and Rinko Kikuchi). They could cancel each other out. I loved Abigail Breslin, as well, and Cate Blanchett can't ever be counted out... but I think it's Jen Hudson's year.

Let's hope so. I saw her on Oprah. She performed and did an excellent job too. I Can't wait to see what's she's wearing.

I just jope it fits well - she has a hard body to fit and I want her to look fabulous!

I hope she looks FABULOUS on Oscar night, because all eyes will be on her.

I don't watch AI, so I know nothing about Jennifer Hudson. I was simply stating what I had heard. Skye, I totally agree with what you said. And Loren, I don't know too many people on here that actually LIKE skanky Hilton and Hohan. Oh, and the point she was trying to make by saying she's keeping the same car, etc is that she won't allow Hollywood to suck her in...in answer to your what's the big deal, Loren.
- 5 years ago Report Comment
I hope she doesn't let Hollywood suck her in. Hollywood spits out most of the people it sucks in.
- 5 years ago Report Comment
I'd kill for her complexion.
- 5 years ago Report Comment
I am happy that she is finding success. However, I did not like her on idol at all. I believe she can sing, but I do not like her music style.
- 5 years ago Report Comment
And I love her outfit but the top of her dress is too tight. The pulling is messy.
- 5 years ago Report Comment
Also, she complained about Simon making fun of her clothes on idol....they were horrible and her poodle looking weave was not a good look. She has improved drastically.

I just read Padraigin's comment about what Jennifer said about American Idol! :( That's not cool of her to say that!
- 5 years ago Report Comment
It's not cool? Maybe it's true.
- 5 years ago Report Comment
Even if it's true, she shouldn't bad mouth AI. I was in the Coast Guard- I wen through BOOT CAMP! Now, that is hard work, and stuff happens, you know? But I still respect (and will not bad mouth) the Coast Guard or the American government because the Coast Guard provided many experiences and opportunities that I would otherwise not have. As far as Jennifer Hudson goes, I don't even know who she is, but it seems like she is a bad sport because she did not win. (However, I don't even watch AI). If she wanted it bad enough (and was voted into the final winner), she would have got it. Even with Simon & his cruel jokes & what-not. The world (especially Hollywood) is a cruel place to be sometimes. That's reality. So even if it is true, sometimes, it's something that we all have to deal with at one point or another.

I don't think she's bitter that she didn't win, maybe a little THEN, but not now. Winning AI means you're trapped for a time and your first album is what THEY want, not what you want. I don't think she even has to respect AI. Just show some grace about a show that got her name out there. It's the smart thing to do in the harsh music industry. People have long memories and people you think of as one dimensional actually have their fingers in more pies than you think. My saying this doesn't mean I don't agree with Jennifer Hudson and that I don't support her, because I do. I liked her on AI, but thought she didn't fit there. She had too much... not presence, something else... spirit maybe, to fit into the AI mold. She's so talented and was so wonderful in Dreamgirls.

Boogie - One of MAC's current colour collections is "Barbie Loves MAC" complete with (sold-out) dolls, totes and tees. Whether or not her negative comments about AI are true, they reflect badly on her. Pad's right - now is the time for her to be gracious. Jen has to play the game - being right and hurting her image is stupid.
- 5 years ago Report Comment
I think NOT winning AI is what was best for her.
- 5 years ago Report Comment
Love her! She looks great!
- 5 years ago Report Comment
Oh yeah, LorenAshley, not winning WAS the best thing that ever happened to her. She's her own person now and can do her own thing. My fingers will be crossed for her tonight!
