Jennifer Lopez slips on some sexy leather pants for a pre-birthday dinner date with Casper Smart. Hey, guys. I'm Karli Bulnes. How she's celebrating turning 43, plus her final thoughts on American Idol are in today's PopSugar Rush. Jennifer Lopez holds tight to Casper Smart's hand as he shields her with an umbrella on their way inside New York Italian eatery Cipriani's on Monday night.
The happy couple joined a group of friend's for dinner on the Eve of J Lo's, 43rd birthday. And, PopSugar, editor, Lauren Turner joins us now with details on the celebration. Hey, Lauren.
Hi, Karli.
J Lo is a native New Yorker from the Bronx, so it's kind of fitting that she's ringing in her 43rd year so close to home.
It is. She's on the East Coast for her tour with Enrique Iglesias and they'll head to Boston on Wednesday but first she's had a few days off to celebrate her birthday. And she slipped on some sexy leather pants for dinner with Casper and a few friends. it was really sweet. She stopped for fans to smile for photos before they got to the restaurant.
And earlier in the day we actually saw Casper arriving with a carload of bags at their hotel. Perhaps these were presents for J Lo?
Well, the bags were actually from Toys for FAO Schwartz, so they were probably for J Lo's twins Max and Emmy.
More than likely. But, you know, Casper did tweet out that Jennifer is the most beautiful bear in the world and he wished her a happy birthday, which was sweet.
He did. And she's getting a ton of love on Twitter for her birthday today.
And before her pre-birthday dinner, shall we say, you know, the news broke about Mariah Carey signing on to fill American Idol to fill one of the judge's seats that J Lo had left vacant. So did Jennifer happen to comment on that news?
Well, she was asked about it on her way inside the restaurant, but she just smiled and kind of laughed it off and didn't respond.
We did hear her thoughts, though, over the weekend. She kind of paused during her concert to say some final words about Idol, so let's take a listen to that.
It was an amazing experience for me. and I'm gonna miss it very, very much. But at the end of the day, this is what I do.
It seemed like Jennifer was really conflicted about leaving the show after she had said she really enjoyed it over the past two seasons.
Yeah.
But she wanted to get back to performing and being close to her fans, which she is doing now on tour and she's also sharing new music and give us a sneak peak at the video for Going In, which will premier on MTV tomorrow.
That looks hot, so we'll look out for that.
