Jessica Alba Still Perfecting Her Eye

It feels like just about every movie requires reshoots these days, so I won't jump the gun and say it's a bad sign that Jessica Alba was back on the set of The Eye in Vancouver over the weekend. Heck, even The Bourne Ultimatum had reshoots up until May. It will still be a while before we get to see Alba's horror movie chops, but before then she's got a chance to show off her range alongside Dane Cook in Good Luck Chuck. I'm not thinking Chuck is going to be winning Jessica any Oscars, but she's still raking in the nominations at all the slightly younger awards shows.

I thought she was great as tough bitchy chick in Dark Angel. What irks is the "I don't want to be typecast, I'm playing against type, I'm really very sweet you guys" shtick. Sweet my ass. Embracy your inner biatch. So, you're typecast as kickass action female? What's wrong with that? You never heard of Humphrey Bogart wanting the play the shy wimp, did you?

Well, I was going to say something entirely different and then I read EatYourVeggies post and I guess she's right. It's kind of sad though when the standard is Lohan and anything remotely above that means you're one of the better ones.

The original The Eye was the best. I can't believe how many remakes this film is getting. There was a Bollywood version too.

I get why people don't like her (I am not a fan of her)but I really don't understand why everyone keeps mentioning that she has no talent and doesn't stand out. I guess it's true but she's still 10000x better than L.Lohan and all those other useless slags. At least Alba is solid and works for a living. Short of admitting to having Mel Gibson-like beliefs, there is nothing Alba could say that would make her as bad as all those other whore-tastic girls in Hollywood.

I don't understand why we need to remake everything!!! The Eye is already a great Asian horror flick, can't we get our own stuff? I hate when we remake classics and put crappy trendy "actors" in it.

She'll ruin it. It's just how hollywood remakes all these shows and ruin the original. Like the ring, the grudge, darkwater and now the eye. AND now, it's worst that jessica "don't call me latina aka talentless actress" alba is chosen for this role. i refuse to see it.

There are a lot of young actresses that are good: Scarlett Johanesson, Rose Bryne, Thora Birch, Mena Suvari, Anna Faris, Isla Fisher, Alexis Bledel, Rosario Dawson, Natalie Portman, Erika Christensen, Keira Knightley, Sophia Myles, Michelle Trachtenberg...and lots more.

i agree with breakbrooklyn. i mean c'mon- there are only a handful of actresses that are good at their craft and they are not under 25! (meryl streep, ellen burstyn, julia roberts) let's take jessica alba for what she is. pretty, marketable, young, and talented (in her own way.) don't hate on her because she is beautiful. that is what this industry is about. how do you think denise richards got on the scene. trust me it wasn't because of her good acting.

Have you noticed that she is basically non-existant among her peers? Does the girl have friends? I wonder if she is a nighmare on the set. Would not suprise me one bit, she just looks like a natural born grump.
