Jessica Biel is on the cover of June's Allure to promote her upcoming film Easy Virtue. Getting the role was apparently hard for her, as she told the magazine that finding work in Hollywood "really is a problem" due to her beauty. She compared herself to other young actresses like Scarlett and Natalie, saying, "I just want an opportunity. If you don't like the audition, then don't hire me! But if you don't want to even see me — that's hurtful." It would be one thing if Jess complained about being stereotyped due to her high-profile relationship, but it might be a little far-fetched to complain about being too beautiful in a town full of gorgeous women. So, tell us — are her comments refreshing or ridiculous?

This is ridiculous, and it's bothered me since I saw the Today show confirm what she said. She has a reputation for being difficult to work with, so the Hollywood pros who know their business don't want to bother with someone they have no interest in working with or someone who can't pull off what they need. She doesn't have that chameleon-esque quality that all the better actresses have- hello, far surpassing beauty and talent- Charlize Theron in Monster- and she doesn't get anywhere near the box office numbers that Natalie Portman can get. Yes, she's pretty and can act some, but she's simply not all that she thinks she is, so she's her own enemy!

Are you kidding me? there is nothing beautiful about this woman! she has a jacked up michael jackson nose fake ugly misshaped lips and a long droopy chiseled face! ...her bod is pretty hot but thats all she gets and compared to other womens bods in hollywood(and on the street) its not that impressive either. Natalie Portman is so beautiful AND intelligent she went to an ivy leugue university and is so talented(something this ugly shell of a woman will never have). Natatlie is someone id like to hang out with not like this vapid ugly woman.

There are many reasons why women get casted in LA. But three of them are the deciding factor dependent upon success. 1Beauty 2Talent 3Connections If you get casted because you only have 1 of these 2 traits, your success will not last. If you have 2 of these traits, you will have a good, long lived career. If you have 3 of these, you will be classified as an icon, placing yourself in the status of actors such as Marlon Brando, Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe (whom despite all appearance was a very good actress. She was ACTING like a dumb, sex-brained, ditzy blond bimbo when in reality she was a smart, manipulative, but somewhat emotionally depressed brunette named Norma Jean. The persona of Marilyn Monroe was all an act to stay famous. That takes talent. Look it up!) If you're beautiful but not too talented or well connected, you become classified as Eye Candy, which basically means you're a short-lived novelty. To put it bluntly, the public likes you until they get bored of looking at you, which usually happens over a period of a few years. Then a new face comes along and your old news.

I don't think her filter was on that day, maybe her comment was taken out of context and if that is the case I feel embarrassed for her. I do agree there are TONS of beautiful women in Hollywood and isn't beauty in the eye of the beholder anyways? Maybe she is geetting a cop out answer from those casting ...maybe just a nice way to say no your not right for the part is "Your too pretty?" My Mom recently started trying to model (age appropriate stuff) and is getting this response from people...she is in her 50's though so again I thought maybe it was a nice way of saying "No thanks" your not right for the job.

The sad truth of it is that, Jess, you are just not talented as an actress. Comparing yourself to Scarlett or Natalie is a joke, IMHO. Your portrayals never feel or seem real. You are just not believable in your roles. There are plenty of beautiful women in Hollywood...and in real life...that topple you off the charts in the looks department. Just face it...we are tired of your self-proclaimed "beauty" and arrogance that has gotten you nowhere....except for a stripper scene in a movie that you should be ashamed of going straight to DVD. If Natalie or Scarlett were in that role...I'll bet your bottom dollar that the movie would hit theaters.

Jesicca Biel to me does not have sex appeal although she was once voted as world's sexiest woman. She does not shine among other beauties. She is a hard body that is all.

how arrogant. i wouldn't want to hire her after that. and the allure cover doesn't make her look astonishing. reminds me of seeing just a regular "model" picture you would see advertising chanel or something.

Being really beautiful can not be a problem, look at Charlize Theron. Then again, Charlize is very talented. There are quite a few young, attractive actresses around with a broader acting spectrum than Mss Biel, she's just not the first name that pops up with the casting agents and producers. She is not a cult figure, not Oscar material and not a box office hit. But she still gets to live the good life, so with a little humility and patience she may grow and get there after all.

Jessica......what a shame. You haven't been in enough movies for me to judge your talent. I thought that you were a pretty girl, but nothing spectacular. As you will find in your fickle business as well as in life.....looks never last and if you feel you have looks that go beyond what is necessary to get parts in movies now, I hate to see where you will be in twenty years or so. Please rethink your statement....as far as I can see you are just another in a sea of faces that "THE SOMEBODIES" said was beautiful and it looks like you are buying your own press!!!!!! Keep in touch with reality!

She stated her looks have been labeled too modern to play romantic comedy and therefore doesn't get a chance to audition. That is probably true although I can admit she isn't a great actress I find it irritating to see Pop try to spin an interview in a completely different way to get a reaction.

I wonder what she actually said in the article. I feel like they may be misquoting her a bit. The only direct quotes from her they used didn't actually say anything about her being too beautiful. They added in 'due to her beauty' but we don't actually see that she said that. If she really said that then why wouldn't they put in a direct quote from her saying that she was too beautiful?

Hate to break it to her, but there are TONS of more beautiful and far more talented that have no problem getting a job. And if a role is made for a "uglier" or older actress, they can "ugly" them up with makeup. I think she's in denial over how mediocre her performances in films are.

Truesay that she's never done anything to really prove her acting abilities but I think what she meant to say is that her looks restrict her to certain types of roles and prevents her from being considered for others - but like others have said, maybe she should stop doing so many provacative men's mags then (I feel we have gone over this with Alba before!)
