There's less than a week to go before Jessica Simpson's new show, The Price of Beauty, debuts on VH1. She was on Ryan Seacrest's radio show this morning to speak a little about the program, and she just gave a first listen to the theme song, "Who We Are." It's the track that brought Jessica into the studio with Billy Corgan, and of their work together, she said, "I just can't find good enough words to speak about Billy. He's a very, very dear friend . . . I hope we can do more music together." So, take a listen to Jess's new song and tell us what you think — love it or leave it?
I like it, but I'm not "glad she ditched the country style." I feel like people are so obsessed with trashing Jessica for her weight or whatever else that they ignore that she actually is a really talented singer.
I like it. Doesn't it have a country vibe to it?
ah, just in time for a thousand different senior classes to use this as their graduation theme song.
omg. no. go away already.
I'm not a fan. It sounds corny and like she's trying too hard. Jessica really seems to have lost her way since her divorce and hasn't found her true voice/self yet.
It's pretty bad.
Embarrasingly bad. Shes trying way too hard.
i listened to the first 29secs and turned it off
@kiwitwist true story i did too
I like it. I think it's perfect for a theme song to her new show. I hope she continues to sing country as well. I thought her album was great. I wish the haters would just leave her alone.
I hate her breath-y singing. Drives me up the wall.
wow that was HORRIBLE. it is so overproduced it's pathetic. jessica was never much of a singer but this is embarrassing.
Its great if youre into the corny type of music. Im not.
I'm sorry to say this.... THE SONG SUCKS! She is not an artist. She keeps trying to be a superstar but it always falls flat.
I'd think her market is males or lesbians with that oversexed sound. Probably why it repels women. I know I can't stand it. I'd rather hear a guy breathing in my ear. lol
I love Jess, and I'm glad she's experimenting with something other than country again, but, I don't like that song at all. I don't think it's because of her though, it's the song, I'm not sure anyone can make that "Who we are" part sound good.
WOW !! i luv this such much its realli gd and suits her voice!! i don't no why but wheneva i c her, i just think of her and nick!! Nick and Jess should get back togther, they are soulmates!!! anyway why are the haters commenting, when u say u don't like her (i do) why bother!!!
I thought she said that "country" was all she'd ever do again. What a joke.
i like it but i miss her pop days.
I've never been a fan of her music, but that isn't because she can't sing. She certainly can. But, this song would never make it on the radio, it sounds JUST like a TV theme song which is what it is. Chances are you'll only ever hear the first 29 seconds, so those posters above have heard all they'll need to hear!
I don't like the song. I don't have anything against JS. I think she is a nice girl, but I have never been a big fan of her music.
Jessica– Move far far away from Hollywood. It's not for you. The message of the tune is valid, but trying to be a sound-alike to Carry Underwood in the chorus, ugh, c'mon... it's exhausting to even try to like you. Go, be normal, get out of the scene!
I love Jessica and think her country album is great. This song however is bad. It's ok as a themesong but I would switch channels if it came on the radio.
Did you all see her new website? Horrendous design...
im sorry but she always sounds like she's got a cold when she sings, i wish she would just sing how she did in her early days, she just seems to be putting on some girly 8 year olds voice. obviously i dont know how hard she works but i just think that if she put in loads of effort instead of writing lyrics that a 15 year old could write would but so much more respected and relevant.
It's a bad song. I don't like the way she sings. All that gasping and panting and bellowing ruins anything she tries to sing.
I'm not a Jessica fan, but a Billy Corgan fan.I have to say hats off to them both. great song.A really positive vibe flowing
Billy, you should be embarrased! Hope ya got some Napalm for this.
If he did get her Napalm, I hope it can be treated with penicillin
lol 28! I actually like her, but not a lot of her music. I also can't stand that gasping, choking sound she makes. Drives me nuts.
call me crazy but in the very beginning didn't she have a rather good voice?? and once she became popular she put on that whole breathy voice and she's never had a good song since
OMG- this is horrible. Will she be singing this song on the talk show circuit to promote her show? Im just imagining her trying to sing this mess along with those uncomfortable looking facial ticks she makes. DISASTER. If her team is smart, then will never allow her to sing this song LIVE to an audience.
I thought it was pretty good. Works as a decent theme song for a tv show. Overall, a good effort.
THAT WAS TERRIBLE!!! Don't get me wrong, I actually kind of like Jess. I saw her at the Chili cookoff in Florida where she wore that terrible jean jumpsuit that started the whole "fat jess" thing. She is trying WAY too hard! You would think that by now she would have found her true voice. I actually felt embarrassed for her as I listened to this track.
it's start nice , but as the song progress i found it boring . sorry Jess just not my taste !
loved it!!
That was too pitchy and just off key. Not good.
I didn't get past the second "who we are." Done!
An other pollution song to hit the radio...
Have a something from Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pills.
Can't take it anymore of those one hit wonder... This is killing real music... Can't have a better name for a web site that cares about bad pop that needs a bikini to sell out stuff.
I'm no fan of Jessica Simpson, and I have nothing against her. She is not talented enought for me to consider her a good singer, more like a below average singer. That song was bad. Just plain bad.
