Job over the summer- need ideas for dogwalking fliers

So, I am almost 16, and think that I need some more money to save up for a car. I don't want to do babysitting. I've tried putting up dogwalking fliers about last summer, and even put my business cards inside of them, but I don't think that anyone really cares about dogwalking anyway. I don't think that over the summer I'll be 16. I need some ideas on how to make money.

     Thank you for your time.

There are some businesses that will hire at 16 - maybe start hunting around and find out if any of the shops near where you live would be able to take you on part time. Since you don't have a car, check out your local bus system - with the weather warming up, bussing to and from work shouldn't be so bad. Since a car takes a lot of money beyond just the down payment (monthly payments, gas, maintenance, insurance) getting a job in town will be better for supporting your purchase versus a summer job that might not bring in enough money and will stop bringing in money when the summer's over.

Since you don't want Babysitting, how about just pet sitting ingeneral (as opposed to specifically dog walking.) Many people will be going on family vacations this summer (hopefully!) and will have the choice to have a pet sitter or an expensive (an not fun for the pets) kennel. I actually house and pet sat for my boss and his neighbor for a 3 day weekend last year and made some extra cash and it was easy and fun. Other "around the neighborhood" jobs would be the traditional car washing, mowing laws, babysitting (which I know you don't want to do, but it is really important and needed especially at competitive rates.) If you're looking for more traditional summer job NOW is the time to apply (They hire in May normally.) Movie theaters, grocery stores, convenient stores, a local mall, cleaning jobs (banks, houses if you live in a vacation area), clerk/secretary at medical offices/offices, serving positions, I could probably go on forever- but I'm not sure what you're looking for. 16 is the perfect age to start working, even though the job market is grim Summer jobs are always popular (especially if you live in a summer town/state.) Good luck!
