Jodie Foster shares screen time with Matt Damon in their new film Elysium — one scene to be exact, though she says she wanted more! We spoke to Jodie at Comic-Con today about working alongside Matt and her character, who she describes as "tough, French, and elegant." Take a look at our interview.
Tell me a little bit about your character in this film, though. She is a minister, sort of a political figure in the new habitat. And she's tough and French and elegant, and really wants to sort of return this world back to the best of what she remembers from Earth. Right. Well, to tell you, what attracted you to do this film and just the genre in general as well. Well, mostly, I just want to make a movie in the world 'cause I love that it's being recognized so much. That was my first impulse was just, "How can I make a movie with this guy?" Then as I read the script, I was just really blown away by the detail of what he put on paper and I can really see Matt in the role and it's just exciting. And how was it like working with Matt on this? I only have one scene with him, and he doesn't even get to talk. That was a little sad. You would have liked to have gotten more screen with him? Yeah, I would have liked to A little more free time with Matt Damon and that would have been nice. How was your Comic-Con experience been so far? Good. It's been really good. I mean mostly all I've done is gone from hotel to hotel, but I did get to look out the window and there were a lot of crazy people dressed up, so that's pretty good. Well, if you had to dress up as one like costume for Comic-Con, what would you pick? I don't really know. That is a really good question. Well, you want it to be something, you wanted to be a movie, television show, comic book that was happening now. I just don't know. I don't know. Maybe one of the droids from our movie from Elysium, one of the droids from our movie.
