In today's biggest headlines from Los Angeles, Chloë Grace Moretz and Julianne Moore have us scared in their new trailer for Carrie, Beyoncé and Jay-Z visit Cuba, and more!
Though we'd seen a brief glimpse of the blood-covered title character of Carrie a few months ago, today we get a full trailer for the remake of the 1970s horror classic. Chloë Moretz stars as the shy high schooler with telekinetic powers, while Julianne Moore plays her mother, a strictly religious woman who deals with Carrie's powers by locking her in a closet, screaming. When Carrie's cruel classmates play a prank on her at the prom, Carrie uses her skills to get her revenge on everyone.
The new Carrie looks like it's going to be every bit as chilling as the original, but with modern touches (all the kids now have cell phones to document their bullying of Carrie) and updated special effects. I'm happy to see the inclusion of famous scenes (the tampon-throwing torture) and lines ("They're all gonna laugh at you"), but I'm most struck by how terrifying Moore is — and she doesn't even have any special powers. Carrie comes out Oct. 18, and you can watch the trailer after the jump.
Get ready to tear up at the trailer for What Maisie Knew, starring Alexander Skarsgard as a modern-day knight in shining armor. His character, Lincoln, agrees to marry Susanna (Julianne Moore) when she's caught in a brutal custody battle with her ex (Steve Coogan) over their daughter, Maisie (Onata Aprile). Given that her ex-husband has taken up with their nanny, Susanna knows having a significant other will put her a leg up in the eyes of the court. It appears nobody anticipates how well the little girl and the bartender would get along, or that Maisie would prefer Lincoln to either of her parents.
I may be crying a little, but the preview still leaves out some key details, like how Susanna even knows Lincoln in the first place, or why he goes along with her plan. Regardless, I still want to see the film, if not just because this little girl looks like she's got some real acting chops. The movie doesn't have a release date yet, but you can watch the trailer after the jump.
With just a few short days until the 2013 Oscars, stars like Julianne Moore, Drew Barrymore, Kirsten Dunst and Naomi Watts are already out in full force for the award-show preparties, like last night's Bulgari fete, which celebrated the jewels of Elizabeth Taylor. The Hollywood set made their style mark at the LA soiree looking nothing short of impeccable on the red carpet. Brand ambassador Moore made a head-turning appearance wearing a red Alexander McQueen paired with nude ankle-strap pumps and a stunning Bulgari emerald necklace from the Elizabeth Taylor collection. Dunst opted for a one-shouldered black gown from Chloé's Pre-Fall 2013 collection, and Watts also went all black in an understated sheath, Theyskens' Theory jacket, and Rupert Sanderson suede pumps. Meanwhile, Barrymore opted for an elegant silk jumper by Max Mara, while Marisa Tomei donned chic embellished separates. There's more where that came from; see all the celebrity looks from last night's festivities now.
Julianne Moore, Naomi Watts, and Drew Barrymore wore Elizabeth Taylor's finest pieces of jewelry to celebrate the late actress's famed accessory collection with Bulgari in Beverly Hills last night. Julianne paired a coral Alexander McQueen gown with a $6.1 million emerald and diamond necklace that was once owned by Elizabeth. Drew and Naomi went for simpler looks to show off their pieces, which included a jewel-toned choker and a long tassel necklace. Drew wore a black-and-white Max Mara ensemble and carried a Givenchy Rottweiler clutch, while Naomi donned a simple black dress and coat. Kirsten Dunst also attended the event in a glamorous black dress fitted with a pearl decoration.
Bulgari will be holding an exhibition of Elizabeth Taylor's jewelry at its Beverly Hills store through Oscars week. The brand will likely also be featured on the necks, ears, and arms of more than a few celebrities at the upcoming Oscars. Be sure to tune in to the awards on Sunday, Feb. 24, and don't forget to fill out our Oscars ballot for a chance to win $1,000 and an iPad!

There was one glamorous arrival after another at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in LA on Sunday. Jennifer Lawrence, who is battling walking pneumonia, didn't let her illness stop her from showing up in a strapless Christian Dior gown, while winner Anne Hathaway chose a cropped Giambattista Valli Haute Couture look for her big night. Jennifer Garner, in a gold Oscar de la Renta number, arrived with husband and nominee Ben Affleck and posed with pal Julianne Moore on her way into the show. Nominee Jessica Chastain brought a pop of color with her red Dior Haute Couture gown, and Homeland's Claire Danes swapped her bright Golden Globes look for a dramatic black Givenchy gown. She wasn't the only star who chose a dark hue, since pregnant Busy Philipps rocked a long-sleeved navy number and Amy Poehler went with sexy Oscar de la Renta. For Julianne Moore, it was all about Chanel Haute Couture for the SAG Awards. The actress selected a white dress with navy flower appliqués, which was equal part stunning and whimsical. We can't get enough of the deep-V neckline (proving that taking the plunge can be chic) and the mermaid hemline. The actress finished her two-toned look with a black Chanel clutch, shiny bangles, a cocktail ring, and equally sparkly earrings. Thoughts?

The fun continued last night as stars celebrated the 70th Annual Golden Globes with HBO's official afterparty at Circa 55 restaurant in the Beverly Hilton. Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban showed love during the bash, while Golden Globe winner Lena Dunham hung out with Judd Apatow inside. Presenter Robert Pattinson and best actress winner Julianne Moore worked the room and Mad Men's Jon Hamm shared a moment with Zosia Mamet from Girls.
The hotel also played host to several other afterparties, including celebrations thrown by NBC, InStyle, and The Weinstein Company. Celebrities like Joe Manganiello and Ewan McGregor were among the party-hoppers that visited more than one event throughout the evening.
