Kate Hudson had Matthew Bellamy by her side as they left a friend's house in LA yesterday. The duo were apparently getting a head start on Cinco de Mayo celebrations, and Kate marked the holiday early by baring her stomach in a cutoff Strokes tee and tiny shorts. Kate is back on the West Coast after a stint in NYC, where she hung out with her boys Matthew, Ryder, and Bingham and promoted The Reluctant Fundamentalist. During press for the movie, Kate opened up about balancing motherhood and work. She'll soon be getting a little extra recognition for her role as a mom since Mother's Day is coming up next weekend. Kate and her mom Goldie Hawn have a "hike, spa day, and tennis date in the desert" planned to mark the occasion, which they shared with us during a recent interview in the Big Apple.

The 2013 Tribeca Film Festival has officially come to a close, and the annual event brought many of Hollywood's biggest stars to the Big Apple. Over the weekend, Julianne Moore got dressed up in purple for a screening of The English Teacher, while Justin Long kicked back with a Heineken at the afterparty for Single Shot. Kate appeared at the New York Indian Film Festival last night to take part in a Q&A with her The Reluctant Fundamentalist costar Riz Ahmed and director Mira Nair. Earlier in the day, she swung by to chat with David Letterman on The Late Show, where she described her older son, Ryder Robinson, as a "laid-back, cool, sort of poetic type" and Bing as a "fireball." Now that Kate's busy week of promotional stops in the Big Apple is winding down, she will soon head back to London and begin filming her latest project with James Franco, titled Good People.
