Kate Mara and Ellen Page Make a Case For True Detective

Kate Mara and Ellen Page had a girls' night out at Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood in LA on Wednesday. The two friends nearly set the Internet on fire earlier this month when they joked about replacing Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson in the upcoming second season of True Detective. Kate snapped a photo of the two actresses and captioned it #TrueDetectiveSeason2, which got favorited by HBO and sparked rumors that they were being considered for the highly anticipated new season. After HBO favorited the tweet, Kate wrote, "What does this mean?! Do you think they like the idea of two tiny detectives?" to which Ellen responded, "I think that basically is the equivalent of a signed contract. I will see you at rehearsals!" (Side note: we would totally watch that!)

Kate and Ellen's friendship first caught fans' eyes when Kate supported Ellen after she came out on Valentine's Day. Kate wrote: "Hey, Ellen Page, be my Valentine? #respect." Earlier this month, Ellen cheekily tweeted that her favorite hobbies include "flirting with Kate Mara."
