Even Kate Middleton Has Awkward Moments

Apr 13 2014 - 8:10pm

Kate Middleton took a break from being flawless Monday to make a funny face while playing some cricket [1] in New Zealand. But don't worry. Earlier in the day, she looked radiant in red as she arrived in Christchurch, New Zealand, where she and Prince William were greeted by the city's mayor and the elder members of the Ngai Tahu tribe. "Do what princes and princesses do," an elder reportedly told Will and Kate upon their arrival. "Increase your family." Speaking of babies, Prince George is back with the nanny, as Will and Kate tackle their royal tour duties. And it's been fun, too! On Sunday, they visited the Amisfield Vineyard below the picturesque mountains of Queenstown [2]. And as they tasted the winery's Pinot Noir, Kate reportedly said she was "really enjoying being able to drink again after having baby George," debunking rumors a second royal baby was on the way.

Last week when the duke and duchess touched down in New Zealand for their three-week tour, all eyes were on Kate's scarlet coat and pillbox hat [3]. Now she's proving again that red is indeed her color, this time in a suit by Luisa Spagnoli. If today's ensemble looks familiar, that's because Kate wore it in 2011 [4] during a visit to her alma mater St Andrews. Red and black are also the official colors of the region she and Prince William are visiting today. While it's Kate's first time there, William was last there in 2011, soon after the Christchurch area suffered a devastating earthquake. On their current trip, Will and Kate will meet with families of the people who died in the quake's aftermath. As the tour continues, check out Monday's moments below.
