Kate Middleton Stuns in an Embroidered Gown For a Malaysian Gala
Kate Middleton wore an embroidered white and gold Alexander McQueen gown this evening in Kuala Lumpur. The floor-length dress was covered with the national Malaysian flower, the hibiscus, in gold. She and her husband, Prince William, traveled to Malaysia earlier today for the second stop on their tour of the Asia Pacific region on behalf of Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee. This afternoon, Kate and William visited Hospis Malaysia as well. There, Kate gave her first speech abroad.
This evening, Kate and Prince William changed into their formalwear for a dinner hosted by Malaysia's head of state, Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah of Kedah. The meal took place at the Istana Negara, the national palace and official residence of the King of Malaysia. Kate reflected on her speech, and expressed relief that it was over. She said, "I was so nervous and I am very glad that it is over with. There was an amazing atmosphere." Prince William, meanwhile, spoke about their upcoming travel to the island of Tuvalu. He said, "We hope to do some fishing and snorkeling. I am very interested in the coral and whale sharks. I have dived with them before and although they are huge, they are very docile creatures — not like jaws!"
