The royals are known for their perfect photo ops, poise, and general properness, but sometimes things don't go quite as planned. That's been the case more than once on Prince William and Kate Middleton's tour of New Zealand , which kicked off with a seriously windy arrival at the Wellington Military Terminal, and continued with an unscripted playgroup for Prince George . While there's nothing scandalous about the unexpected moments, it's always interesting to see the royals when they aren't totally photo-op ready.
Fashion disaster narrowly avoided!
"This damn umbrella. Regular people tasks are so hard." — William
Princess Kate gets put to work!
And tasked with figuring out her own harness.
"Touring is so stressful." — Kate
Kate seems a little concerned, no?
We're pretty sure the queen would not approve of this wind-induced fauxhawk.
"I knew I should've used more hair spray." — Kate
That might have been a bit ambitious, Will.
Even Kate picks up after her son.
Even Prince George pulls his mom's hair.
Don't look too excited, Kate!
Royals have awkward moments, too.
