Katie Holmes flashed a smile today as she hopped into a waiting car in NYC. The actress spent the morning visiting the Children's Museum of the Arts, and the attached gift shop, with Suri and a family friend. The trio were spotted leaving with a couple of shopping bags.

It was the latest fun stop for the mother and daughter this week. On Wednesday, Katie's mom, Kathleen Holmes, joined her daughter and granddaughter for a trip to the Central Park Zoo, where they spent some time checking out the penguin exhibit. Yesterday, Katie and Suri headed to Chelsea Piers for a gymnastics lesson. Katie's been dedicating most of her time to Suri in the wake of her divorce from Tom Cruise, but she also took a break to indulge in an evening out with friends on Wednesday. She sported a pair of sexy leather pants to hit the town for dinner at The Lion.
