Katie Holmes was all smiles as she chatted with and hugged a friend after a meeting in LA on Thursday. Katie is on a break from her promotional schedule after Don't Be Afraid of the Dark hit theaters in August, and now she has a bit of time off before she's out again for Jack and Jill's November release. Katie Holmes's style earned Fab's accolades as being perfectly executed for Fall, though this time she didn't have her fashion icon in the making, Suri, along for the day. Katie was also all on her own last weekend when she stepped out at the VMAs wearing Proenza Schouler to present Video of the Year to Katy Perry.
