Katie Holmes donned a sheer black Dolce & Gabbana number to attend The New York Observer's 25th anniversary party at the Four Seasons in NYC last night. She mingled with other notable guests including Spike Lee, who was named one of the 100 most influential New Yorkers by the publication, at the celebratory bash.

Katie has had downtime since wrapping her Broadway show Dead Accounts in January, and she's been spending much of it with her daughter, Suri Cruise. Last weekend, Katie joined Suri and her little companion for a playdate in the Big Apple. Suri recently returned to NYC following a trip to London to visit with dad Tom Cruise, who is on location filming All You Need Is Kill.
