Hollywood's exciting run-up to the Oscars continued with a dinner thrown by Harvey Weinstein and Dior at Chateau Marmont in LA yesterday. The brand's newest model and Academy Award nominee, Natalie Portman, couldn't make it since she was busy traveling to the West Coast with her fiancé, Benjamin Millepied, but plenty of other stars came out to celebrate. It was Halle Berry's second glamorous event of the week after she donned a hot red dress for the Costume Designers Guild Awards, though this time she made it a date night with boyfriend Olivier Martinez by her side. Hostess-to-be Anne Hathaway took a break from her show preparations for the evening out amid rumors that she and James Franco will perform a song from Grease on the stage. Busy Philipps returned from the snowy East Coast to pose with pal Rosario Dawson, while actors Gerard Butler and Adrien Brody took a minute to chat. Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Meyer, and Michelle Trachtenberg were among the other guests to toast the upcoming Oscars, where we'll be broadcasting live from the red carpet and backstage. We're also giving away a Samsung TV, so be sure to fill out BuzzSugar's ballot for your chance to win!

Nicole Kidman and her pal Naomi Watts were together last night in NYC for the "Important Dinner for Women" at Cipriani's. They were joined by famous faces like Wendi Murdoch and Liya Kebede for the event, which followed a day of meetings at the UN about issues affecting women of the world. The meal was hosted by Queen Rania of Jordan, who mingled with other celebs like Jessica Alba, Naomi Campbell, and Veronica Webb. The ladies' charitable work isn't the only important event going on in the Big Apple presently — Matt Damon joined Bill Clinton at the former president's conference, where Brad Pitt is expected later today.

Meryl Streep went a bit more casual this time while Amy Adams took it up a notch in her floor-length gown. There were a few famous chefs out for the night, as well as Julie Powell who inspired the title character of the film. Both Yum and Buzz had the chance to interview Julie this week — read about her thoughts on the movie here and her relationship with Julia Child here.

Sweet Expansion at Dylan's Candy Bar

Just in time for Halloween, Dylan's Candy Bar in New York City has expanded. An additional 5,000 square feet have been added, making it the largest candy store in the world. Opened in September 2001 by Dylan Lauren, daughter of fashion icon Ralph, the store sells more than 5,000 varieties of candy — from bulk chocolate treats and gummy candies to 21 different colors of M&Ms and novelty sweets such as three-foot-tall lollipops and candy mobile phones. A real-life Candyland, Dylan's is a destination for kids and adults alike with its candy-themed clothing and jewelry, a private party room, and a soda shop.

To celebrate the store's expansion, Dylan's hosted a grand reopening party earlier this week that brought out the child in all of its attendees, including yours truly! Here's my behind-the-scenes look at the fiesta.

Battle of the Chanel: Raver vs. Joel

When dreaming about Chanel, my dreams are black and white.

When dreaming about Chanel, my dreams are black and white. And so, Lipstick Jungle's Kim Raver and burger expert, Katie Lee Joel, present the perfect Chanel face off. Kim wore a frilly and bowed LBD with signature Chanel pearl necklaces, while Katie wore a spectacular white beaded number and monochrome accessories. Kim agreed it was a classic frock: "I love the combination of the flowy ethereal feeling, but also the really classic chic Chanel." Both ladylike, but who's do you adore more?

Mariah, Patrick, Christina and More Get Artsy at Whitney Gala

Last night the stars got cultured at the Whitney Museum American Art Gala in NYC.

Last night the stars got cultured at the Whitney Museum American Art Gala in NYC. A beautiful Christina Ricci and Emma Roberts stayed on trend in their dark and stormy dresses while Nick and Mariah were red carpet ready as usual. Becki Newton lightened things up a little in her busy pattern, but from the color palette across the board the darker months have hit Manhattan. Donatella Versace helped throw the party and had some man candy on her arm, the face of her line Patrick Dempsey, for the night. The theme of this year's gala was "Whitney — Past, Present and Future" but seeing the star studded red carpet the art wasn't the only exciting sight last night.
