Katy Perry Could Be Performing at the Super Bowl

Katy Perry is reportedly in talks to perform during the Super Bowl XLIX halftime show — a source revealed to Page Six this week that "a deal is being hammered out" for the pop star to take the stage at the game, which is set to air on NBC Feb. 1. Katy would be joining a high-profile lineup of past performers including Bruno Mars, Paul McCartney, and Beyoncé. The NFL is also rumored to be eyeing Coldplay and Rihanna for the coveted gig.

Katy is clearly a football fan, as she was recently spotted going crazy in the stands while cheering on the Ole Miss Rebels during their game against the Alabama Crimson Tide. She also made an appearance on ESPN's College GameDay, and when asked about the NFL's reported negotiations with musicians — it's been alleged that they ask recording stars to pay the league in exchange for performing — Katy replied, "I'm not the kind of girl who would pay to play the Super Bowl." We'll have to wait and see if Katy confirms her halftime show spot.
