Lena Dunham received a Medal of Distinction from Barnard College in NYC yesterday. She accepted the award alongside two other important individuals: Elizabeth Diller, the architect for the Big Apple's famed High Line, and Jimmie Briggs, a journalist and human rights activist. Lena tweeted her excitement about the event, writing, "I'm a guest at Barnard College graduation today. At my own graduation I sobbed, hit my mother and fell asleep, so pretty psyched for a redo." Afterward, Lena accompanied her boyfriend, Fun. guitarist Jack Antonoff, to the studio to watch him record a track and Instagrammed the adventure, writing, "Take your girlfriend to work night."
Lena wasn't the only star who made a stop by a college graduation over the past week — Michelle Obama gave the commencement speech at Bowie State University on Friday while her husband, Barack Obama, spoke at Morehouse College on Sunday.
It was a big week in filming with love interests and villains appearing on movie and TV sets this week. Katie Holmes and Luke Kirby sparked chemistry for Mania Days in NYC, while Lena Dunham celebrated her 27th birthday with an ice cream cone during shoots for Girls. Across town, Andrew Garfield hung on tight during a faceoff with The Amazing Spider-Man 2's newest villain, The Rhino, played by Paul Giamatti. Happy birthday, Lena Dunham! The actress, filmmaker, and writer turns 27 today, closing out another highly successful year of her relatively young life. The creator and star of the Golden Globe Award-winning HBO show Girls signed a $3.5 million book deal last year, and she uses her popularity for good, participating in political ads last election and fundraising for mental health causes. Lena has also shown her refreshingly fearless and bare-it-all personality, literally baring it all in her countless nude and sex scenes as Hannah Horvath on Girls and speaking out about body image and her struggles with obsessive compulsive disorder. Both Lena and her alter ego Hannah have a lot to say on what it's like being a 20-something woman in today's world. So we're looking at some of Hannah's best moments and lines to illustrate how to survive your 20s with some cupcakes, dancing, and self-reflection.

Lena Dunham brought her A-game to celebrate the Met Gala's Punk: Chaos to Couture exhibit in NYC tonight. She wore a custom Erdem dress and shoes and was joined by designer Erdem Moralioglu for the fashionable evening. Lena's night out came during a break from filming for the third season of Girls. Her costar Allison Williams also got away from the cameras for the bash. The red carpet fashion and beauty is still coming, so make sure to vote on your favorite Met Gala looks!
According to our friends at New York Daily News, Girls creator Lena Dunham was spotted scoping out a $4.5 million listing in Brooklyn's Williamsburg 'hood last weekend. While the penthouse boasts plenty of perks, like a party-perfect wraparound terrace, we couldn't help but join in the house-hunting fun by throwing in some of our own suggestions. See the covetable Brooklyn beauties we uncovered, and let us know which house gets your vote!
Lena Dunham got cozy with her costar Adam Driver while they filmed a scene for the third season of Girls in NYC. Adam tickled Lena and she returned the love by pecking him on the cheek after they also showed PDA on set during filming last week in Brooklyn. The other Girls cast members have been hard at work on the new season as well. Lena shot scenes with Allison Williams last week while wearing colorful frocks and a "birthday b*tch" hat, perhaps a nod to a special celebration in an upcoming episode.
In addition to working on the series, Lena's been busy mixing in with New York's glittering party scene, attending the Time 100 Gala last week and presenting at the 2013 Actors Fund's annual gala on Monday. She's also apparently searching for a new home and checked out a $4.45 million penthouse in Brooklyn over the weekend.
Lena Dunham and Allison Williams enjoyed some downtime on the set of Girls in NYC yesterday. Lena took a phone call between takes, while Allison grabbed a beverage and laughed with the crew. The girls seem to be continuing their filming from earlier this week, when they were spotted on the Manhattan set in the same outfits. Lena sported the printed bubble dress with a "Birthday B*tch" trucker hat, which could foretell a special celebration for her character, Hannah Horvath, in the show's third season.
Lena has had much to celebrate herself, as she was recently named one of Time magazine's 100 most influential people in the world. She partied with fellow honorees Claire Danes, Justin Timberlake, Jimmy Fallon, and Frank Ocean at the Time 100 Gala in NYC earlier this week and shared that her father was the first person she called with the exciting news.
