The Big Apple was hit with severe weather on Wednesday, with Hurricane Arthur making its way up the East Coast and its effects reaching New York. Thunderstorm watches and warnings were issued in NYC, with a huge downpour hitting the city as lightning lit up the skyline. Thousands of people were left without power throughout the state, and flash-flood warnings have been in effect. The severe weather comes just days after a derecho storm hit the Great Lakes area, where Chicago saw its fair share of lightning, too.
