Matt and Luciana Damon Show Their Support For a Cause Close to Emily Blunt's Heart

Matt Damon and his wife Luciana left Alexia, Isabella, Stella, and Gia home last night in order to attend the annual Freeing Voices, Changing Lives gala in NYC. The event was held to benefit The American Institute For Stuttering, which has long been supported by Matt's The Adjustment Bureau costar Emily Blunt. It was Matt's latest social evening after attending Monday's Made in NY Awards, where he picked up an honor for his dedication to shooting movies in the Big Apple. Emily herself turned out for the party, and her husband John Krasinski did too. John and Emily attended the benefit together in 2009 and last year as well. Emily supports the organization after she dealt with a speech impediment as a child. She told Elle UK last September, "[It was] awful, absolutely awful. You feel like there’s an impostor living inside of you who is misrepresenting who you really are. You don’t want to be accepted for being that person but at the same time you do, and you don’t want people to finish your sentences, yet you breathe a sigh of relief when someone does." Emily conquered her ailment and went on to forge a successful career as an actress, and she's lately been putting her oratory skills to use on the set of Five-Year Engagement in Ann Arbor, MI, with costar Jason Segel.
