The actor kept his mother, Mary Kathleen McCabe, close as they returned from Rome, holding hands as they made their way out of LAX. It's no surprise to see Matthew bringing along his mom — he brought her to the Oscars, too [2], where she watched one of his endlessly quotable acceptance speeches [3]. While Matthew isn't filming any big projects right now, he reportedly linked up with his mom in Europe [4] for an unknown commercial shoot. After True Detective ended earlier this month [5], there's been a big McConaughey-sized void on TV, so it will be good to see him back on the small screen.
