In Fruitvale Station, Melonie Diaz takes on a real-life role as the fiancée of Oscar Grant. In 2009, Oscar was shot and killed by a police officer in Oakland, sparking outrage in the local community and across the country. The film was a critical smash at both Sundance and the Cannes Film Festival this year, and when Melonie stopped by our LA studios, we talked about how she prepared for the "upsetting" role and her take on the movie's larger message.
