Has Mike Myers Lost His Touch?

Mike Myers's The Love Guru hits theaters today, and so far the reviews have been flat-out awful. Check out what Buzz has to say here. It's his first non-animated movie in years, but his last film, The Cat and the Hat, wasn't received that well either. So tell us — do you think Mike has lost his touch?

The Love Guru: Oh, Hell No

I'm having a hard time with the old axiom "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all" while figuring out how to share my thoughts on the new Mike Myers comedy (and by the way, that categorization is a stretch) The Love Guru.

I'm having a hard time with the old axiom "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all" while figuring out how to share my thoughts on the new Mike Myers comedy (and by the way, that categorization is a stretch) The Love Guru. I have to be honest, I've been sitting on this for a few days now, and I'm hard-pressed to find a single decent thing to say about it. There is juvenile, there is crude, there is downright not funny. . . and then there is this movie.

In addition to the general unfunniness, watching The Love Guru is practically unbearable due to the desperation that permeates the entire film. It's hard to tell if Myers realized most of the shticks were lame, or if he felt that because he's Mike Meyers people will laugh, so he has carte blanche to go as low as he's ever felt like going. The camera is so close to his face for so much of the film, we see every bit of manic energy going into each line, and he uses this intense stare to practically will (or beg?) us to find it all hilarious. It's sad. And uncomfortable. Not even Justin Timberlake in speedos with a funny Canadian accent can salvage this attempt at humor.

Heidi and Mike Celebrate Project Runway and Shoe Swapping

After taking home a Peabody award yesterday for Project Runway, Heidi Klum gathered some of the show's alums and Mike Myers to celebrate. The hilarious group hammed it up for the cameras after Heidi slipped out of her glamorous white dress and into something more comfortable. Mike who is in promotional mode for The Love Guru was happy to tag along with familiar faces like Austin Scarlett, Christian Siriano, and more. Kinda great that Heidi and Mike have the same size feet and switched shoes for a minute — he can so rock the Loubs. This is just getting me more excited for the return of Project Runway on July 16. Maybe then Heidi can clear up the mystery of her new arm ink that looks to be her husband Seal's name?

JT and Mike Only Have Each Other to Love at Their Premiere

Justin Timberlake left his lady at home but still made a cute pair with Mike Myers at the premiere of The Love Guru in LA last night.

Justin Timberlake left his lady at home but still made a cute pair with Mike Myers at the premiere of The Love Guru in LA last night. New mom Jessica Alba also had to sit this one out, but her costars were more than willing to take care of the talking, joking, and funny faces. JT dished about getting another acting role under his belt but made it clear that music is still his passion, saying, "I'd love to be a two sport athlete, if you're asking me what I'm hoping for. I don't think I could ever walk away from music." It's nice to hear the pop star won't be leaving his first love, especially since lately it seems he's enjoying the opportunity to play such well-endowed characters.

How Did You Like Mike Myers' MTV Movie Awards Hosting?

More than a decade after his first turn presiding over the golden popcorn, Mike Myers took his second turn as host of the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday.

More than a decade after his first turn presiding over the golden popcorn, Mike Myers took his second turn as host of the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday. Much like the last time, in 1997, he delivered a dance number (a dance-off between himself and Chris Brown, vs. 1997's Lord of the Dance parody), and he and Dana Carvey also resurrected their Wayne's World characters. Now that the winners have been chosen and we're rehashing our favorite moments, I'm wondering: Did Myers make you laugh out loud — or was his hosting just a big groan?

Everyone Sings Their Own Praises at the MTV Movie Awards

We spent two hours watching movie plug after movie plug at the MTV Movie Awards last night, and while the show had some funny shining moments, we still missed the spoofs.

We spent two hours watching movie plug after movie plug at the MTV Movie Awards last night, and while the show had some funny shining moments, we still missed the spoofs. We actually expected a lot more Love Guru so I was thrilled to see the return of Wayne and Garth instead (yay for Dana Carvey!). The stars of the night were Johnny Depp who proved his acting range as he humbly racked up awards for Best Villain and Best Comedic Performance, and the Tropic Thunder boys who got their laughs with funny banter and Iron Man idolization.

Adam Sandler didn't disappoint us with his tribute song to himself (and adorable shirt and speech!). Tom Cruise gave him the award and while we're loving seeing Katie here, we missed her on the red carpet. Coldplay rocked out to a new tune, which only made us even more excited for their new album. Looks like Rihanna and Chris were enjoying themselves in the audience, but what did you think about the show? Were you happy with all the winners?

Lots more photos of the show including Paris and Benji, Ellen Page, Steve Carell and lots more if you just read more

How Money Are You: Mike Myers' Career

Tonight is the second time Mike Myers will be hosting the MTV Movie Awards, so I thought we'd take a look at the twists and turns of his long career. My favorite performances were the ones from my childhood, but I know some modern kids who know Mike's many voices better than they know his face. How much do you know about this funny man?

Superbad, Transformers Lead the 2008 MTV Movie Award Nominations

This year's MTV Movie Awards, airing live June 1, will mark the second time hosting for Mike Myers who said in a statement, "Hosting the MTV Movie Awards is like a party, but without having to do beer runs in your mom's minivan."

This year's MTV Movie Awards, airing live June 1, will mark the second time hosting for Mike Myers who said in a statement, "Hosting the MTV Movie Awards is like a party, but without having to do beer runs in your mom's minivan." He then added, "We do beer runs in Will Smith's four-story motor home."

Today we have a full list of the nominated movies vying for the Golden Popcorn statues at this year's "party." Awesomely, Michael Cera is all over this list, for both Superbad and Juno. Shia LaBeouf is also well-represented, as is Amy Adams. Superbad leads several nominations, with a bunch of Juno, Enchanted and Transformers rounding out the rest.

I was slightly surprised to see some titles included in the list, like No Country for Old Men, American Gangster and Sex and the City: The Movie. Maybe I'm not too clear on who the audience is for MTV. . .Can they even get into these movies?

Anyway, now that the nominations have been announced, you can cast your votes for which movies should win over on the MTV Movie Awards site. To check out a full list of nominees, read more

Jessica and Mike Bring Their Love to Vegas

Love (Guru) was in the air at ShoWest in Las Vegas last night where Mike Myers and Jessica Alba promoted their upcoming comedic venture.

Love (Guru) was in the air at ShoWest in Las Vegas last night where Mike Myers and Jessica Alba promoted their upcoming comedic venture. The two stars of The Love Guru joked around up on stage including a moment when Mike took credit for knocking Jessica up. She was quick to deny that one. While I kind of think this movie looks, um, terrible — maybe I'm underestimating the Myers/Alba double whammy.
