you kind of have to feel sorry for her. she was on top of the world and now she's not...and it's kind of sad. i hope that she gets things figured out. i remember this time last year when she was going to move overseas for a while to stay out of the limelight and she still managed to get all this work ....it could be a lot for someone.

@ilanac13: That's just the thing. She was NEVER at the top of her career. Her ego was and is too big. She left the O.C. on the cusp of stardom b/c she thought she could find better. Guess what? She has little talent and found nothing better. She goes on her blog to 'set the rumor' straight on stories that no one has ever heard of. This girl is batsh*t crazy and is probably suffering from nothing worse than a case of bag narcissism.

Sorry for sounding so unsympathetic, but Mischa Barton has always represented the talentless, spoiled and entitled celebutards that Hollywood keeps churning out...even more so than Paris Hilton!

Thanks xosoflaxo. But I should say that if, by chance, she really does have a substance abuse problem, then I take back most of what I think. Addiction is a terrible, terrible demon to battle, regardless of if a person is famous or not.

Having a substance abuse problem is a persons own fault. Your body doesn't just miraculously develop it, you feed the problem.

Where are her parents? Her family? Do they forget it and let them in LA?
They don't even know in wich world is her daugther? And I am sorry to tell the truth, but adictions are a medical condition, this girl is mentally ill because is an addict, like her there are plenty of kids, women and men in the same condition.

I am as snarky as the next person, but cut her some slack. Obviously she has an addiction problem and she is paying for her actions. Her life can't be that easy because her little sister had the same problem. If you're on 51/50 something is truly wrong and kicking someone when they're down isn't the greatest thing to do. She is just a young woman after all and I don't know who she's hurt besides herself.

This seems to be a common occurrence among former child/teen stars. I agree, it has something to do with too much money, too much freedom, and no accountability.

Left the OC because her ego was too big, got dissed in the gossip rags because her thighs were too big, realized what a big mistake she made and now she's koo-koo crazy.

Hard to cut her slack when she's refuses to accept responsibility for her addiction problems. She did her best to point out that she only went to rehab to prove she didn't have any issues or problems. She acted like her DUI arrest was a one-time, out-of-character thing. Remember the set-up paparazzi photos of her playing with puppies in the grass a few days after her arrest? A lot of media reports are linking back now to her and Nicole Richie's 2007 Memorial Day barbecue (the one with the 100-pound weight limit e-vite) after which she wound up in the emergency room. Nicole Richie should thank her lucky stars that she accidently got pregnant with Harlow, otherwise she would still be on the crazy train along with Mischa, Lindsay and Paris.

The sad thing is that she has a new show this season. Sure the show looks horrible, but at least it was something.

The addiction problem is sad, but it's her sense of entitlement and superiority that make it difficult to sympathize.

hope she gets herself in good health again, it's been going to the wrong direction for such a long time.

i really think Lisa hit the nail on the head w/ the 1st post....these girls have too much $$, too much idle time, and no REAL work. Mischa's downward spiral started when she quit the OC....

You don't have to be spoiled or have a substance abuse problem to be put on 51/50. I was put on 51/50 a year ago and I was holding a steady job, I don't take drugs I'm not an alcoholic. Sometimes people just have problems. I feel for her.

I feel bad for her. Yes, she had money, fame, drugs, and alcohol at such a young age and that makes it hard to necessarily sympathize. However, it sucks seeing anyone go through something like this, especially when it is splashed on the cover of magazines and blogs.

I feel sorry for her...at one point she was the new It girl. Got to be hard when your career has stalled and you are still in your 20's.

I hope she gets better and sorts her problems out.

It's pretty bad that this girl is in put on a psych hold and even TMZ doesn't report about it...they write about everything!
