Kelly Clarkson's new music video for "Already Gone" has debuted, amid controversy that her songwriter used the same backing track heard on Beyonce's "Halo." Kelly tried to stop the song from being released once she realized the resemblance, but the record company didn't agree and it was included on the album. Check out the music video below and tell us — love it or leave it?
I prefer Halo out of the two, but still a fan of Kelly
Much better than Halo!!
i like the song, but i don't really like the video. I do like the song and video for Halo a lot more
I've been a fan of this song since her CD was first released. I honestly don't even hear a resemblance to Halo. Maybe a tiny one, but it's really not that obvious. It's still a completely different song and people shouldn't make a big deal about it. I think Kelly's song "If I Can't Have You" has a similar beat to Miley's "Fly on the Wall", but again, they're still two different songs.
I'm not a Kelly fan, but the song's MUCH better than that stupid "I do not hook up"
Although, I can hear a slight resemblance to Halo.
Loved this song when it first came out way before I heard halo. Different direction regarding both songs. No need to pit the artist against each other. Room in this audience for both... Get over it already.
It's amazing how two artists can come up with such different songs from the same music.
wow, so much better than halo (although I'm not a beyonce fan in the first place)
This shouldn't be a Beyonce vs. Kelly issue. Both women are talented. It seems like this kind of thing happends often in the music industry b/c produers and songwriters offer up their music to different artists at the same time which makes it easy for situations like this to happen. It sucks for Kelly that her record company wouldn't listen to her and put her in this awkward position.
This song is way better than Halo and her voice sounds much better than Beyonce's!
It does sound a bit like Halo. I like a Halo a bit more than this.
Someone said that Beyonce heard this song and asked Ryan to write her something similar. That's how "Halo" was born. She rushed to record it & release it before Kelly Clarkson. It makes Ryan look like a total dick, which he's not. I do hear the similarities.
I really like this song
same person wrote it... but I think it's different enough
So much better than Halo!
Already Gone was produced first. By the same person.
I really love the song, and the video. It totally makes me appreciate the album so much more. It really is just a great album, all the tracks--beginning to end.
Glad to see her looking so pretty too.
It does sound a bit like Halo but I think Halo is way better. This is a tiny bit boring but I think I might grow to like it. Heard it on SYTYCD before finding it here, didn't know it was Kelly!
The video is boring. They could have done something different to make it less drowsy. The song is amazing though! And Halo is annoying. I'm not a fan of Beyonce at all.
A/I Widget that can't sell out a theater for two nights in a row in the same city. The bellwether of any great act is live draw and she proves once again that reality television is an unsustainable driver for a music act.
Honestly, if I hadn't read that it was like Halo I'd never have noticed. I just don't hear the similarities... Video is melodramatic but fits the song. I like it.
yuck i don't like either song
Didn't she have a song called Already Gone on her first album? Or at least one where the chorus repeated "I'm already gone"?
They're a little bit similar, but I love Kelly's! Fave song on the album
I like the song but I think the video is really boring but then again I didn't like Halo either.
Not bad but I like her more pop/rock stuff better. She looks gorgeous in video though.
The song is far FAR superior to the video and to Halo. However, if the video is - as somebody perceived it to be - of Kelly in heaven, then for me, it is brilliant. I hope the heaven suggestion is the reason behind the video, or at least for someone to ellaborate, because otherwise it doesn't make enough sense for me and renders the video pointless. She is looking absolutely jaw dropping though....can't fault that one!!
halo is a much better. this song is like a watered down version and the video is bland
i HATE this song, but luv the video way better than Halo. i can see the resembelence between the two and like halo way better.
Way better than Halo!!!
I love it! A perfect song, and the singing, melody and lyrics are beautiful and heart wrenching.
Carrie Underwood and Clay Aiken are way better singers. Kelly sucks at singing.
Laying down makes her look less fat but the video is still lame.
Ha Ha! Look at all the anonymous Kelly fans!
I like this song better than Halo but really I don't think they are alike enough to really notice unless you sit and listen to them side by side. And really who cares if they are a bit similar anyway...
Both song are good but I do like 'Already Gone' more. Halo gets annoying after a while. My sister thought the word 'Halo' was a ghetto word because how it sounds coming from Beyonce (funny stuff).
I have a theory about the demographics of the people hating on Beyonce but I won't spell them out lest my comment be erased. Having said that, I don't see what the big deal is. There is room enough for both fabulously talented women. Besides, whose songs these days are REALLY unique? Everyone samples in one way or another! The only difference here is that the songs have been released close in time.
Anyone who says that Kelly Clarkson cannot sing is obviously tone deaf. She is one of the most naturally talented singers out there today. To hear her live is amazing unlike a lot of the other so called singers out there. Most of them sound good on the radio, and can't sing a note in tune live. Kelly is amazing and Already Gone just proves how talented she is.
I'm just not seeing it. I notice no resemblance between either song. What the @+#*% is everyone talking about? There's bigger things to focus on. Like oh say saving the planet. Yet this is what we're b*tching about?
