NY Critics Awards are United
Let the award season begin! Last night the New York Film Critics Circle Awards chose United 93 as the best film of the year. Helen Mirren won best actress while Forest Whitaker took home the best actor. Martin Scorsese took home the award for best director. Jennifer Hudson won best supporting actress for "Dreamgirls." Talk about life changing opportunities. The American Idol contestant shared the red carpet with all these A-list men. So lucky!

I love that Jennifer Hudson won. Its good to see someone whos "not so hollywood" get credit for an amazing job. It would be easier to have given the award to a bigger name but she deserving! Hopefully this will start a trend for her.
1MY fav is LEO, ... his acting in his latest movies is just great...would love to see him win ..:-)+ he is so grown up at his age (like no troubled hollywood star; at least no SCANDALS, very smart looking ..in his public appearances & interviews.
2Leo was BRILLIANT this year in The Departed and Blood Diamond...I am so happy he's getting the attention he deserves and moving away from the teeny-bopper Jack Dawson days!
3Great that Jennifer Hudson won, but I am surprised that she does not get some more help to dress in a way that suits her body. The black dress is ok from the waist and down, but it does nothing for her upper body. She should take some lessons from Queen Latifah's book, and invest in a good bra!

5I'm so glad Leo is being recognized. I haven't seen Blood Diamond yet, but he was amazing in The Departed. And YAY for Martin Scorsese!! Now I just hope he gets the Oscar!

I think Jennifer Hudson looks great! I haven't seen the movie, but I'm happy for her just hearing all the good things people say about her.
13I don't think Leo is a bad actor, but my hand involuntarily tightens into a fist when I look at his smug face.
Ryan Gosling is kind of attractive in a small-town boy sort of a way, but something about his looks (I don't know what) makes me think that under his sensitive-boy appearance, he might actually be sort-of a jerk. (Maybe it's the 'stache.)

Someone (I say Donna Karan or Oscar de la Renta) needs to dress Jennifer in a colored (green, yellow or red probably) fabulous old-school GOWN. I don't mind her clothes, but I don't think they reflect how fabulous she is.
18ha nyara! please. weight and talent are not related. it's hilarious that she said the lead singer wasn't the lead role. um, right. that's why she got the undeserved golden globes leading actress in a whatever nomination. she sucked, or to put it like the times reporter, her performance was painfully inconsistent and disappointing.
