Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka Welcome Their Twins!

Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka are proud dads to newborn twins, Gideon Scott and Harper Grace, born on Tuesday! NPH announced the news on his Twitter, saying, "All of us are happy, healthy, tired, and a little pukey." The longtime partners shared their decision to become dads via surrogate over the Summer and since then have been gearing up for their little boy and girl. Fatherhood isn't the only exciting new role NPH is taking on as it was recently announced he's going to direct his first feature film. Congrats to the happy family!

AmirJustina...anytime you use fertility drugs and treatments, like I assume the did with the surrogate, you are more likely to have twins or multiple babies. And gay people want newborns just as much as any other straight person. It takes a special person to adopt older children and thank goodness those people, of all orientations, are out there.

If I had a genetic defect that caused me to have a hole in my heart and knew that it would almost absolutely be passed on to my child. I'd still give it a shot.Why not? I want to see what it's like to have kids too. All that cute stuff!

I don't see why people care if kids brought into gay couples life. If they get bullied it's okay because the parents know how to deal with it. They have probably been bullied already so they can handle it. They'll be able to teach them what to say and do so can be proud and never have to hide their home life. Those kids are just lucky to be bred so that gays can own some kids too. It is their right!

David now has four kids with two different men...er and the surrogate moms. He abandoned his other kids. Sad. These names are horrible btw.

That's right. Don't group gays who have their own kids in this celeb category. This is just what works for these two busy professionals. And the reason they don't adopt older kids is because they already have an opinion.

Gays adopt children of all ages, often taking on children who have languished in foster care for years.

AmirJustina, these are not "adopted" babies. They are born by a surrogate mother but these are Neil & David's babies. Don't make generalizations about "gay people". I'm sure they take many of the same options as all people who cannot have their babies in a conventional manner. But it does seem that this is the most popular option for wealthy celeb's in that situation. Why not? What I'm waiting to hear are the babies' last names.
