Are the New Gossip Girl Ads Too Racy?

Gossip Girl will finally be back on April 21^st, and apparently the show's producers and advertisers want you to know one thing: there will be sex. While these ads capture hookups that already happened, the photos are definitely making a big statement about the show in general. The photos are definitely sexy, but considering its teen audience — do you think they are too racy?

Its not encouraging teen sex... It gives them something to watch when they arent having sex. Just because one or two shows have racy ad campaigns its encouraging sex? WRONG! Teens are already thinking about sex.

I know that this is a little late. But I have to comment on this. I'm 14. These ads are not making me want to run out and have sex, these ads are not going to cause all the girls at my school to get STD's. This may seem like a new concept, but teens are sexually active. These ads will not change that. We use the f-word in our daily vocabulary. These ads will not change that either. Please stop being so outraged about what these ads are going to do the the pure-as-driven-snow teen population. We know how to protect ourselves. These ads certainly do their job, and nothing else. Times are changing, and I mean no disrespect, but we are not the last generation. I agree that these are not good ads for young children to see, but 14 and up? Please. don't watch GG, but I have nothing against it. Wow that was long.

LOL since I was a teen, sooo many girls, without such media at all(maybe alittle) but not because of it, have had sex and were at the risk of getting pregnant by their bfs at the age of 14!!! It's all about who YOU are not what you see. I don't go beating up everyone after watching an action filled movie for example :P

Um...yeah. The GG ads went up on the site I work for and it took me a little by surprise. But I don't think it's any different that 90210 just a little more overt, and thats the point bratty lil' rich kids who break all the rules and live to shock!

I don't think the sex thing is a big deal. I think if kids (or teens, whatever), are watching the show, either (a) their parents know, and probably have heard things about the show and have some idea of what it's about, or (b) they're old enough to have a TV in their room or somewhere where their parents don't see what they're watching. And yeah, an overwhelming amount of teens have sex anyways. It just makes the show more like real life. But I do think the "OMFG" is uncalled for. I think the pictures would've been enough to shock people.

These ads are really aesthetically nice. They are simple and to the point. Plus, they're sexy. I saw them in a magazine and I remember stopping to look at them closer, thinking about how well done they were, in terms of being attention-grabbing.

I have no problem with either ad or the "F" and "G" being together but then again I'm in college and have no children and atheist.

Poor 17 year old me. I'm sure I feel the desire to have sex when I see those ads. OMFG. Anyway, creators knew this fuss is gonna happen and fuss grows in to ratings. I'm not worried about teens, their own judgement is the key - but how about those under 13. Kids can read and realize it too you know. It is just a tv show. It is not real and we all should know it.

All the networks care about are ratings. Besides, it seems to me that more women are watching these silly shows wishing they were these young girls. Maybe that is who these ads were meant for.

Seriously, most of you are acting like you weren't like this as a teen! The sex may not have been that great looking back, but when you were a teenager you sure thought it was! It is just an ad, if you don't want your children watching it then don't let them. I do agree with alex1984 though - the ad is doing its job: its making these "racy" ads which really aren't that bad - they show CHARACTERS in "sex scenes" and its says OMFG! Call the Christians so they can throw their bibles at the actors!!! Get over it already its just a TV show.

i don't think this is going to make teenagers to want to have sex. If they will really want to, they would without the help of a tv show. I mean I watch so much sex stuff on tv, yet I'm still a virgin, is just a matter on how they were raised.
