There's a bunch of new stuff on TV tonight. Thankfully I have a dual tuner DVR!!! Set those TiVo's for lots of funny comedies.
We are most excited for the return of Jake in Progress. Last year we fell in love with John Stamos in Jake in Progress but we liked the show more for the entire ensemble, not just because of John. Turns out this year they are not only changing the night to a more appropriate Monday (instead of Thursday), but they are making it more about the entire cast, not just Jake. We are looking forward to checking out the new changes. Besides, we are just rooting for Stamos because we like him.
Also new tonight is Emily's Reasons Why Not starring Heather Graham. They are touting it as the next Sex and the City. Don't get that excited. It's nowhere near as funny, hot and sexy but it is cute. While Heather Graham is a likable character, the show is just OK. It is a bit gimmicky, but I'll still give it a few weeks. Also I think this show programmed on the same night as Jake and Progress and The Bachelor is a perfect fit. Check her out on Letterman last week.
As for The Bachelor - every year I try to swear it off. It is such a bad guilty pleasure and yet every season I some how get sucked in. Needless to say, I will watch the first episode tonight and probably be pissed I lost that hour of my life but then possibly get sucked in again to another season of love that will never last. Besides, he's hot.
Finally, one of the best new shows this year is How I Met Your Mother. I have written about it before and I truly think this show has the potential of being the next Friends. It's a fabulous cast with Neil Patrick Harris and Alyson Hannigan. Seriously, NPH's character Barney is one of the funniest guys on TV right now. Besides, my buddy Matt Boren is on the show tonight so I know it's going to be hilarious. I can't wait to check it out!!!
